Introducing The Acorn From Slestak75

I have extra flying lemon bearings. I imported 100 from the factory again recently if you want one. I didn’t ship these with one because my testing had me whack myself with it violently when I tried it unresponsive lol.

Not sure if it’s just mine or something, but after swapping the bearing to make it unresponsive, I haven’t had any issues with it randomly coming back at me. I’ve even been able to do some simpler horizontal tricks with it

I could be down with that.

I’m tempted to rip the pads out and flow a recessed response and use a lemon bearing but I don’t have spare pads if I want to go back .

I added the pads to my site the other day for a buck a pair for folks who end up needing extras.

I think you were gonna place an order soon, you can always add a pair and I’ll toss them in the box with the rest of your shipment if you damage the pads.

Might be your bearing is a little more broken in, your throws a little cleaner, or your pads a lucky extra fraction of a mm thinner.

Ohh cool yes I’ll add a few then

I do remember you saying that your unresponsive skills were … :grimacing:

Acorn Mini will be my next production release. I’m gonna recess the pads a tiny bit to reduce bite, have the edge hand smoothed to remove any rough spots and I’ll be shipping them with a flying lemon bearing included + and standard mr85 installed.

The box will remain mostly the same but I’m gonna reduce part of the roots a little so I can ship it in a standard shipping box.

Full Size Acorn there wasn’t as much interest in the prototypes, I have three remaining I’ve put up for sale on my site listed for what it cost me to manufacture the protos.

The Acorn is a very fun throw. It’s the most enjoyable (to me) organic that I’ve ever thrown. Many people, though, seem to like organics that I don’t love. So take that with a grain of salt.

Honestly I’m blown away with it, like it was supposed to be a cute fun design but it really does just rip, for an organic and a plastic one no less I’ve never played anything like it. I’ve been playing with mine this morning.

PS I was also stood up on a couple protos. Someone committed and never paid or communicated so their protos are now up for sale on the site including a copper Acorn mini. Anyone is welcome to purchase it.

So I found out that my wife is quite fond of your stickers but I don’t see anyplace to peruse the available artwork and purchase. This saddens me. :smiling_face_with_tear:

I hadn’t really considered that someone would want to buy them :joy:

Which ones does she like?

Well… I have the…ahem… Bottoms. we have the one that’s your avatar pic and the other Audrey pic. She loves both of those. She and her best friend from all the back to junior high started making creams and lotions this past week so she grabbed a shipping box of yours to keep her stuff in because it had the sticker on it. I think she’d like more to put on the box. Not sure if you had any different ones.

I’ll send you more of whatever I have! I think I owe you a flying lemon bearing anyway. Plus some printed brake pads I promised you ages ago.

I found a sticker place in Portland OR so it’s local ish and I’m gonna be ordering some more fun stickers. They offer crazy stuff like glow in the dark, chrome, glitter, weird holographic stuff you would find on a poster in the 90s etc. I’ll get some nice weird freebies for orders.

I think I’ll commission an artist to make something for Acorn Mini stickers to go with the production release. Like a squirrel holding the yoyo or something.

Couldn’t be happier to announce that I was able to commission not just any artist but out very own @yoyoretro for the artwork!
