I’ve always wanted to make a yoyo that encapsulates the classic organic profile, but somehow never got around doing it (with ILYY). So, I decided it’s time to go for it on my own: This is the Blumi
Crafted from 7075 aluminum it combines all the classic traits from the good stuff (FH, YWET, etc.) with a modern 4.5mm gap and state of the art machining.
The profile is old schoolish without any modern cuts or curves. It uses well-rounded off edges for comfort and defined but optically slim rims to keep the looks light and open.
The cup is unmistakably ILYY-esque with the rounded hub but adds an understated engraving of a daisy right in the center, inspired by the Anti-Yo heart.
I went for a soft blast for these prototypes and masked guts for smoother feels.

It plays wonderfully, good spin, smooth old schoolish vibes, and sublime hand feels.
Now the big question: is there any interest for these? I haven’t decided yet if I should do a full run.
