I’ve had a bunch of folks (myself included lol) surprised by the spin time and power on the very simple looking organic shape of the Delrin Acorn so I diagrammed it to explain the physics. Keep in mind I don’t do a lot of yoyo math so I don’t have any MMOIs or SSRIs or other magic fancy numbers for it but the wall thickness expands out from the thinnest portion out to more than double as it approaches the outer rim. Simple shape but deceptively thicc.

Package arrived. 
My wife was especially excited about the suckers and the plastic keychain(?) she says she can’t wait to find a place for it. I wish I had recorded her. She has very cute reactions to things she likes. Otters really get her close to explosion. 
And you really hooked me up with these brake pad replacements. These feel all kinds of right and with the size variations I’ll surely be able to really fine tune it. Thanks Andy just ever so much.

The suckers are cajeta paletas, a type of goat milk dulce de leche lollipop, one of my favorite childhood treats.
The other thing is indeed a keychain cut from acrylic.
One of these days I’m gonna custom make some silicone brake pads I think, but until that day I hope the giant assortment of thickness and materials works for you haha.

Prototypes are being ordered this week, I just submitted for a quote, should have those in hand in hopefully 4-6 weeks if everything goes well. If interested in getting in on a prototype you can DM me, might be able to add one on for you.
Production run will depend on sales of Demons Fun and the Acorn mini. I’ve gotta move some existing product before I do the next production runs after Demons Fun and Acorn Mini.

Alright my cost to manufacture the Acorn Mini in solid copper will be $102. I’m gonna pretend like the flying lemon bearings, pads, axles and stuff weren’t costs and fell out of a tree lol. I’ll set the production cost to match the proto cost, $122 and will be giving $20 to the VA hospital for every sale, tallied up at the end of each month. I’ll have 40 in stock. Production will start probably next week and take a month or so.

Correct! Pads are gonna be slightly recessed and I’ll be tossing in a free flying lemon bearing + shipping them loaded with a standard mr85. For folks that only want it unresponsive it may end up better if they pull one pad like an old school throw though.

Giving the Mini some love today with the Lemon bearing and the skinny string. Nice and unresponsive. Also nothing at all like a rock on a string. The magic of coppers added weight and density. I’m really impressed. I feel like someone with some real skill could really enjoy this little beast.

So I’m expecting it’s gonna be about a month or so before I have them in hand. Then i need to QA, assemble, and box them.
I’ll probably do that in stages qa a dozen or so and list them in batches. I’m disabled and my disability is worse in summer so I’ll be moving a little slower then hence the batches.

Okay I’ve signed the contract for the commercial/video and paid up. ETA on the production order of Acorn Minis is about 20 business days. So like mid to late June.
