Introduce Yourself!

I remember those! Thats what started all this off for me…Oh, the eighties…
Hello Everyone, I hope you find this forum as helpful as I have!

mr bear is my buddy :).

Shout out to my Floridian/Filipino yo-yoers out there! I’m excited to be a part of the forums with YoYoExpert. I’m still a nub at yo-yoing but I will get better!

Yes, well, thats the general idea…

A long time ago I played with yo yos. 20+ years. My repertoire include Gravity Pull, Forward Pass, and something I called Around the world, which looked nothing like what Andrea does in the lessons above. I could never get a yo yo to spin well enough to do walk the dog. The other day I found YoYoExpert ordered a Fast201 and a Kickside.

What an amazing thing a modern yo yo is. I can now do Walk the Dog, Rock the Baby, Dizzy Baby and even a BrainTwister. These new yos are amazing.

I learned something else though. Yo Yoing today is a lot more dangerous than it was before. A Kickside with a good sleeper on it that catches early… MAN does that hurt. Get a bad wind. OMG, knuckle busting. Get a sidewinder spinning into your hand wrong and it can suck the slip not REALLY tight. The momentum on the returns can be worse than catching a pitch barehanded.

hah. we know my friend, we know.

Welcome to the forums!

um well i started yoyoing about 1week ago and just made this account my friend got me into it and ya!

Welcome!

Hi,

I’m a new yoyoer, I started about a month and a half ago. My name is Keaton and i’m 12 years old. My first yoyo was a grind machine, second was an M1, third was a loop 720, fourth was a sunset trajectory, and my fifth was a heavy cream. My favorite is the heavy cream hands down. I love that yoyo. Well the tricks I can do, I think the best trick I can do is suicide catches. I’m in the middle of learning spirit bomb But just can’t get the first and second pops. Well that’s all Ive got to tell you guys. Oh, one more thing, my first competition was today. I did the Minnesota states and I live here. I was in the ladder division and got 4th in my age group. Well that’s all.

          KEATON

Welcome, you had more ambition than I did at 1.5 months, I have lots of relatives in Minesota

Hi! I have been yoyoing for the past couple of months. My favorite yoyo is the Freehand Zero. I practice every chance I get throughout the day. I am interested in learning new tricks that will impress my friends and family. I currently know rock the baby, dizzy baby, trapeze, walk the dog, around the world, 360, part of the aerial, pop the clutch, the eifel tower, the confederate flag and several that I have made up on my own. I am planning to print out the your yoyo trick list, watch the videos, and increase my own yoyo trick list. Thanks for having this website!

Hello, my name is Justin but, you can call me snackers. I’m from Michigan and I like alchemy yo-yos and mini yo-yos. I have horrible ocd’s and I stoped doing drugs :-\ inturn i took up yo-yo’s

I LOVE SNACKERS :). Do you have “The flea” yoyo? Thats a mini one.

What can you make from alchemist?

I love these yoyo instead of drugs stories.

Nice to meet you all.

My name is Erik. I’ve been “dabbling” in yo-yos since I was child. I used to get a Duncan Imperial/Butterfly in my Stockings and Easter Baskets every year, so I guess you could say that’s where I got introduced. When I was 18 or so is when I really got interested, when I picked up my Playmaxx Turbo Bumblebee and Turbo Bumblebee GT. About the same time I picked up a Veriflex that came with a instructional video with Steve Brown. So I guess you could say that was my true start.

I mostly just dabbled on my own off and on for the next 10 years. Other then that video I didn’t really receive any instruction for years until I found MasterMagic. Over the years I’ve had various things come up, that result in me putting yo-yos down for awhile. But now I’m trying to take it more seriously and give it real time. I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I could really use a hobby. For awhile there was a cruel joke being played on me; that when I lived in an area, I was unable to find others interested in it. But soon after I moved away a club would be put together (case in point www.moyostates.com). Which is coming up, so I’ll probably be making a trip back there for the weekend.

In recent years my favorite yo-yos have been the Duncan Freehand & Freehand Zero. I’ve tried many, but have kept coming back to them. For awhile the YoYoJam Kickside was my main throw, but I ended up back to preferring the FHZ. However very recently I’ve been favoring YoYoFactory. I picked up some F.A.S.T. 201s long time ago for fun, and a F.A.S.T. 401k (which at the time I didn’t really get into). But now my 3 main throws are a YoYoFactory Velocity, Duncan Freehand Zero and Buzz-on Element X (a JD/YoYoFreakz Limited Edition that has been a favorite since I picked it up a few years back).

My wife has been very supportive of my yo-yoing over the years. She even shares in it a little. She messes around and knows a trick or two. Mainly she likes to paint, dye and mod our yo-yos and string. (She’s a jewelry designer so artsy stuff and mod work comes naturally to her… and having an untrasonic in the house is a perk). Recently she’s taken to taking my used string and making friendship bracelets out of them. Like I said… “creative.”

Good to have you on the forums.
Before you ask about the wierd names look at this forum http://yoyoexpert.com/forums/index.php/topic,14508.0.html

Hello World. The name’s Ben.Started playing like 2 months ago. My first yoyo was from some shop that sells second hand stuff. Had a red LED and could pull off a throw down sweetly…sadly, it died after a freak spinning accident on the floor. Second yoyo was a Yoyofactory Spinstar. Favourite trick with it is the chain reaction and Barell rolls. Wish they sold Yoyojams here though. Gotta get a Dark Magic before i turn grey. Thanks for the videos. they really help, ALOT.

welcome… i’m asuming your talking about the learn videos, you can thank andre for that.
