Welcome to the forums and back to Yoyo. That Exodus II and Merlin are heavily pushed on that giant internet store for some strange reason. The Exodus II is a great paperweight if you work in a windy office. Most modern yoyos are 50% the weight. Don’t hurt yourself!
Yep, that is where I got them. It feels like the Exodus is 3x the weight of the AL Magicyoyo i have. Im glad i found this place. What do you think of the LP and the ShootingStar? I am waiting on them to be delivered.
The shooting star is great. Haven’t tried the LP.
Welcome to the forums! It’s awesome that you’re getting into looping, it’s a style that very few people play, mostly because of it’s difficulty. The Something LP is one of the best looping yoyos out there, though albeit expensive, a lot of 2A players recommend it as it’s kind of a higher quality Loop 720. It’s heavier than the Loop 720, so you’ll likely have greater control as it doesn’t move as fast as the Loop 720s or the C3 Initiators and it’ll feel more grounded. All of this is subjective though and I encourage you to just buy and try out the various different looping yoyos, they’re pretty cheap anyways. You’ll eventually find a yoyo that you like.
The Shooting Star is an awesome yoyo, super smooth and well playing. It’s pretty light but it’s stable enough to handle all sorts of different tricks like horizontal and hence moves pretty quickly on the string. Both are great additions to your collection for sure.
Welcome, hope you guys enjoy!
Hello. This is my first message here and I am so glad someone started this. I have been yo-yoing for two years and I always have a yo-yo on me.
Welcome to the Forums! Tell us what yoyos you are throwing and post some pics!
Thanks for the warm welcome into the community. I am also a board gamer and a swimmer. My favorite throw is a shutter.
Welcome!! Glad to have ya!
If you keep a yoyo with you all the time, even when you’re in the pool, then you’re hardcore! Just kidding, of course! I’m also a swimmer, and now looking back a yoyo would have been the perfect way to kill time between events during a swim meet. That reminds me of a shirt that I saw at a meet years back that said “If you only have one day to live, go to a swim meet because they seem to last forever”!
Which Shutter(s) do you have? I got one of the original Shutters when I started throwing again last year. It’s the red/orange fade colorway and I still think it’s one of the prettiest yoyos that I have. But then I got the Shutter Wide Angle and that was my favorite for a long time as it’s much easier to land on the string due to the width. I got one of the JDS Shutters when they first released, and that’s a really nice throw too. Now if only I could get the JDS’ smoothness with the WA’s ease of hitting the string in a red/orange fade ![]()
That’s crazy! I used to have the same shirt. What what’s your best event? Mine is the 1650 fr.
I only have a normal shutter. Also red orange fade. I don’t have a very large collection yet.
Welcome to the forums!
Oh, I see you’re the kind of person that enjoys pain! I try to stick to 50s, since they’re over really quickly!
I tried a longer event once and I happens to be very good at it. My first 1650, I managed to go a 17:33.14. So after that I became a distance swimmer.
Hi there, this is Aaron from A&A Yoyo Strings (coming very soon!). I’ve been posting sparingly on the forum as @IMArocketman but figured I should have a handle just for the brand. Speaking of, we are going to be launching in the next few weeks. The first thing we are going to do is offer free samples for the first 100 people to sign up. Follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/aayoyostrings) as we will post the link to sign up just a bit before we post it on the forum. We’ll be posting more information about the strings and company very soon!
Awesome!
Hey everyone! I’m Tef from Canada. Been back into yo-yoing for a couple months after nearly a decade hiatus. Glad to be back and can’t wait to get to know y’all better

It certainly is. Amazing how much muscle memory helps though, kinda picked back up where I left off. Thanks for the friendly greeting!
Welcome to the forums! Maybe you should look into getting a G2 Decade to represent how you have come back after 10 years!
