Welcome to the Forums!
Hi, my name is Adrian.
I havenāt been on these forums for maybe 5-6 years but decided to join again. I started yoyoing June 6th 2012. Iām from Minnesota. I host a yo-yo club biweekly virtually and I have a podcast called the aperture podcast I started with my friend Braydon. My favorite trick is probably Eli hops and my favorite yo-yo is the nickel plated chief, palpitation and the blizzard. Nice to be back on the forum.
Good to have ya here!

Welcome to the forums!
Hello everyone!
I am new to the forum and am REALLY excited to join this community.
I recently rediscovered my love for throwing and general yoyo play. I still have my first Yomega X-Brain from 1999 and it works like a charm! I currently have a Yomega Raider, Duncan Hornet, and an original BNIB Playmaxx Turbo Bumblebee that I just won on eBay on the way!! I have lusted after a bumblebee since I was a kid and now finally have one! Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can purchase replacement cork response pads? Or, how I can make my own?
I also have a passion for collecting wristwatches, especially Omega and Seiko brands.
I will contribute more as I shake off the rust and grow my skills this summer!
Thanks!
NB
Hey, and welcome!
I tired looking for those cork response pads and I really canāt find a place to buy them, BUT in certain craft stores they sell cork sheets in rolls, so maybe you could try experimenting with finding the measurements online so you donāt have to destroy the ones you currently are using and making a pattern with paper and pencil to cut it out?
Thatās really the best idea I currently have since a lot of the older duncan parts stopped being sold.
Thank you! That is a great idea. In reality, all it would take is a small sheet of cork and an exacto knife to cut-out the pattern from existing response pads. The adhesive would also be easy to come by in a craft store.
Welcome to the forums!
Welcome to the forums! I too recently shook off my rust (several months ago now) and discovered unresponsive play. Also, I totally also still have my XBrain from childhood!
My best advice is to try to not get caught up in the hype around the over 8000 awesome new yoyos that come out everyday (or do? Collecting is fun!)
This community has proven to be pretty awesome, I think youāll like it here.
Cheers!
Welcome aboard, folks!
Welcome! This is a great place to be
I am a female from The Netherlands and very new in the YoYo world, I brought 13 YoYoās in 3 weeks too much from 1a till 5a, why ? Because I want it and yes I also purchased some wrong ones. I watched a lot of videoās and reading this forum step by step. I have a lot to learn also step by step. So which tricks I can do ā¦ uhm ā¦ I am still learning
Besides the YoYo ā¦ I speedcube and I am a front-end developer. I love Armin van Buuren. Maybe you see me in a YoYo contest do some YoYo tricks on the music of Armin van Boring. No that was a joke, I am not competitive, I am scared on stage.
I am a gamer ā¦ Play Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Nioh and Sekiro controller dies twice
Love this forum.
The x-brain is my warm-up yoyo then I head to the Raider to start practicing new tricks. I am really looking forward to getting the Duncan Hornet as well. Not sure if I will use the Turbo Bumblebee as it is a collectors itemā¦but I may change my mind once I get it LOL
Welcome to the forums. Iām glad you joined!
Hi everyone~ my name is Cooby and I am from Hong Kong. I am now studying in secondary school. and self learning 1A yoyo tricks. And I am gonna perform yoyo tricks at school after my exam (although I havenāt learnt a lot but I think it is still worth a try~) Hope I can do well and wanna ask if you guys have any suggestions for performing 1A combo tricks? like what combo is it good for performing?
Hope to learn more about everyone on this forum! and improving my skills at the same time~
Welcome to the forums! Iām not sure what tricks you already know but whenever this type of question pops someone always suggests including a few tricks that almost everyone has seen like Rock the Baby. Iād even suggest some simple Brain Twisters or Split the Atom. If itās all complex tricks it goes a little over peopleās heads. Bring a plastic yoyo so you can walk the dog too.
Welcome! Combo tricks are aplenty! I suggest learning the individual tricks first. Once you have learnt most of the individual tricks, you would have little problem coming up with combos of your own. Mastery of the various trick elements is key to making them look good. Even a simple trick can look great when performed masterfully.
Thatās a good idea! Thanks for all of your recommendation. Actually I have learnt just a few like spilt and atom, the matrix, double or nothing and also the side throwā¦but yeah I will learn some simple/single tricks first. If thereās not enough time, I think if I can join this single tricks smoothly thatās would already be great for me~
and besides learning yo-yo, I also learnt piano and I am now grade 7.(but I stop learning for 3 years) Thinking to have the grade 8 exam by self learning after the dse exam when it is not so busy for me
