Hello everyone. Taking up an interest in yoyos again after some years away. I almost enjoy tinkering with pieces/modding more than actually throwing. I’m not very good throwing but I still enjoy it. I recently stumbled upon this site/forum searching for random parts.
Hello I’m Ryan I’m 31 and I haven’t thrown a yoyo since I was a kid and that was about 20 years ago. My son got one and I was trying to show him some of the old tricks I could recall. Thinking about getting back into it myself and wanting to start off with a decent responsive yoyo. Dark magic is what I’d like but they seem hard to come by. Been pursuing the threads here looking for recommendations and a bit overwhelmed. Any suggestions definitely welcomed. Legacy 3? Thanks!
I recommend the YoYoFactory whip or the Duncan ButterFly XT
Hi I’m Shiki! I’m PR manager at CloudString. It’s too hard to pick a favorite, I love them all!
I’ll be on the forums regularly so feel free to say hi or chat. Nice to meet you!
Welcome
Welcome to the forum.
Thanks all, ended up going with a velocity. Thanks for the tips.
Hello!
My name is Felipe Barco, from Brazil. I’ve been playing since 2004, and in 2009 I lauched a yo-yo under the name “Energy” by Barco Yo-Yos (creative, am I not?). It is this thingy below…
Around 15 were sent to the US. Last week I found out about this forum, and just for fun decided to look if there was something about the yo-yo I designed here. To my surprise, there actually is. So, thank you for the people who bought, tried, gave your opinions, modded, etc. Even more than 10 years later, I think I owe you this shout out. Who know another run can be made someday?
Besides my Energy, I still love throwing my old and trusty YYJ Hitman.
Now that I found this community, I hope to be able to participate and contribute. Yo-Yos hasn’t given anything but good friends, times and memories.
Nice to meet you!
Gday Fellas Just vibing with my passion to yoyo came here to see if I could get rid of a yoyo that just sits around doing nothing!
Hi,
I’m 62 and played with yo-yos since I was a kid. I never got very good with tricks, just loop de loops and cat’s cradle and never had any real fancy yo-yos. Around…ummm…the mids 80’s or so, my wife would buy me different yo-yos as gag gifts on occasions. Then I started collecting them just anytime I went on vacation.
Almost all these yo-yo’s are pretty cheap. I’ve since not used them in years nor displayed my yo-yo’s and my collection was just for fun, not any resale. None are in boxes or even wrapped. One big laundry basket of them, lol.
I was just googling to see if or how I should sell them and found these forums. I’m just saying hi and I haven’t started any process to sell them. Just seeing some nice people here.

p.s. I remember when I was maybe 13 or so? And my best friend was the son of a local minister in a church. He would steal the keys to the church and we would just go into that empty church and goof off. One time I’m walking down the main aisle in this empty church toward the podium with my yo-yo doing around the worlds and shooting forward and back when the string SNAPS and the yo-yo flies like a rocket with a homing beacon right smack into the baptismal behind the podium.
I still feel a slight panic I felt then when I recall it. I had to hike up my jeans and wade into the baptismal and fish out my yo-yo with my friend laughing his butt off the whole time.
Hello all! Been lurking around the forum for a few weeks and decided it was time to join up. I was born in 89 and in the mid to late 90s I had an interest in yoyos. I had a small collection of commercially available and wooden yoyos. Never got serious about it, just simple tricks like rock the baby. I found a duncan butterfly xt on sale a local store a while back and bought it. Last week I decided it’s time to get a little more serious and start practicing and bought an unresponsive. The latest trick I have learned is brain twister with the unresponsive. I am spending some time to really try to practice and work on getting into front and side mounts consistently and less sloppily before moving on to other new tricks. Looking forward to being part of this community!
Hello everyone!! My name is Jimmy! I have been yoyoing for about a year now, i was told about this site from a friend, so I decided to join and I’m just introducing myself, it seems the yoyo community is very nice and humble lol from what I can tell, I’d love to talk to everyone and learn and share the knowledge that i might know, isn’t much tho…
Hey there Jimmy! Glad you found your way here! Lots of great people around!
