Hello all, my name is Sean and I just recently picked up throwing again after a 15 year break. My first yoyo was a Duncan freehand in elementary school, so around 2005. Just recently picked it up again in October as I needed something to do in order to break up the monotony of physics 2 study sessions (Electricity and Magnetism are pure magic, try and convince me otherwise). I am now a DPT student in grad school. The most complicated trick I can do as of right now is probably only Calypso, but looking to get better every day. My current go to throw is my emerald Hummingbird.

Hello YoYoExpert Forum!

My name online is Vibe. I am a speedcuber from the United States. I found some really amazing videos online of throwers like Gentry Stein and Hajime Miura, and I have honestly been wowed by them! So I decided to try my hand at it.
I picked up a Replay Pro from Amazon (I’m sorry YoYoExpert, I didn’t know you existed until yesterday :sob: ) and I am definitely intruiged. I can bind sometimes, and kinda do a breakaway throw, but this is honestly such a fun hobby!

It’s kind of upsetting to see how not much has seemed to change over the past few years, and that there seems to be less activity in the YoYo community. A shame, really. Hopefully I haven’t joined at the wrong time haha.

Anyway, I hope that I can start learning some cool tricks alongside all of you, and maybe I’ll see what I can come up with myself!

Good afternoon! My name is James and I’m just now starting to get into yoyos. My friend Jeremy reintroduced me to the hobby recently, and I’ve been learning unresponsive yoyo binds (this stuff didn’t exist when I was last interested, Yomegas with clutches were all the rage back then).

I am absolutely in love with the colorways and different styles that One Drop makes, and despite the fact I can’t do very much right now, I have 4 ODs and want to get more.

So uhhhh, this is weird. I used to be super active on this forum from like 2012 to 2014/5 and it’s so weird coming back and seeing how much things have changed. I kept throwing every once in a while, never really learning anything new but when I was bored or just needed to get my mind off things yoyoing worked. I figured I’d see whats up here and cringe at my old post and I was pleased to see this place is still active. So yea guys I’m happy y’all are keeping this old place running and yoyoing is thriving as a sport just as it was when I left. If anyone remembers me (which seems doubtful) it’d be cool to see some usernames I recognize. Anyway hope all y’all are doing well and keep throwing cause it’s way too much fun not to.

Learned a little about 10 years ago but stopped with life changes. Just found my SPYY Punchline and thought I would try learning again now that my 5yo is showing interest in yo-yos. Feels like I’m back at square one though after not throwing for so long.

Hi ya’ll, my name is Grant, Jada is my handle for any accounts online. I used to yoyo a lot 2008 - 2011 ish, but I’m getting back into it a little bit. I’ll probably be dropping a trick video or two some time soon. I’ll probably chat here once in a while too.

I already posted in a couple of other spots, but I figured I would say hey here. I was a middle-schooler when the late 90s yoyo-craze hit and I naturally got sucked in. Other than picking up a Raider for nostalgia’s sake a few years ago, I haven’t been active in the hobby since. That was, until I stumbled upon these guys while going through some stuff in my basement a couple of months ago. Been lurking ever since to get caught up. Turns out things have changed a lot since the late 90s…

Hi, I’m Joel. I’m almost 55 and am coming back to yoyos after about 20-years away. My last new yoyo was a Spintastics Tornado that I got in the late 90’s. What a great yoyo that was! I lost it somehow and jumped online to see if I could find another one like it. Wow! Things have changed some. I picked up a Sage (YYF OneStar) and a Replay Pro and I’m hooked! Just ordered yoyo for the whole family to keep us entertained during Social Distancing. Glad to be back.

Have you told your family  ?
My kids just give me a look of distain when i mention it. Unless they want something of course. Then its “thats a really nice yoyo” and “i might like to give that a try” followed very quickly by “just going out have you any spare cash”.

Hi there! Welcome from Pennsylvania! I’ll be 55 in July. I learned my first intermediate trick (Brain Twister) on a Sage. I love the Sage as well as Replay. This forum is an excellent resource as you can find an answer to practically any question by using the search bar. I hope you stick around.
