hello all. i started yoyo as a child some 50 years ago. i remember how much i loved it and spent so much time playing. well, up until i found girls that is. then i spent the last 40 years mountain biking and racing radio control 1/8th scale gas buggies. however, life caught up to me a hand full of years ago and now after surviving 2 widow maker heart attacks and having a pacemaker implanted in my chest i found myself at a crossroads of sorts wondering what am i going to do to keep busy and not kill my bank account or myself doing. then, last summer, i found GSquaredyoyos. i started drooling over the marvel and started looking for my first modern yoyo. that is when i found YYE. i purchased a Marvel in the YYE colorway then spent the next month trying to bind the stupid thing only to give up and modify the yoyo to respond and loop. then i played with it all the time. after about nine months i decided to try to bind it again only this time i used the YYE learning videos and started with the braintwister. i could do the trick but still couldnât bind. so i kept trying until i got it. i love the guy doing the learning videos on this site. learned the matrix, the atomic bomb, split bottom mount, double or nothing. learning new tricks daily. maybe someday i will learn to start a dead yoyo. i now have 2 Draupnirâs, a Gamma Crash, a Gruntbull Orbis 5, G2 Marvel, Tropic Spins Arcadia. just beginning. i am all about METALS. big fan of machined goodies. and now machined art toys. i can modify the yoyoâs with the best of them. i have a yoyo in my pocket every day now, and i often wonder how many other mid 50âs guys are out there with a yoyo in their pocket.
Your history sounds like mine have had a âwidow-makerâ in 82, by-passes (2 times) and a pacemaker. And we are still here to talk about it and to throw yoyoâs. PM me and were can have a good talk.
WELCOME!
Thank you. Itâs great to be alive.
Howdy! Iâm KingCobra. I used to love yoyoing when I was younger. I was pretty much a beginner and yoyoed with cheap plastic Duncan yoyos I got from stores, that didnât last long. Itâs been a very long time since Iâve yoyoed now and decided to start again. So I wanted to get a great professional yoyo that would last me a very long time, so I ordered an unresponsive yoyo, the Beboo Yoyo L1, along with a giant pack of strings on amazon. I have the yoyo now and already learned how to bind (which I got right on my first attempt). Really nice to join this forum!
It is great to welcome those who have come back to yoyoing.
About a month ago my kids came home from Elementary School with 2 NED Yoyoâs. I hadnât thrown in 20 years, but instinct let me show my kids âRock the Babyâ⌠They were just as amazed as I was that I was able to do it. Wow, Yoyoâs have come a long way! Excited to be throwing again and learning new tricks.
Hey all,
My name is John. Just checking in. Iâm getting back into yoyoing after a very long layoff and enjoying learing all the new stuff there is to try. Cheers.
Hey. Iâm Cruz Q. Iâm 14 years old and Iâve been yoyoing for about 4 years. I have a ton of yoyos and some I need to trade cause Iâve gotten bored of them kinda. Look at my bat post please. Anyway Iâve been an avid yoyoer on and off and have learned so much for this site about different companies and yoyos. The whole idea of yoyos amazes me. Cheers.
Name is Mike Iâm 29 yr old and have been learning new tricks off and on for about three years. I came upon this site when trying to find good yoyos after I was dragged to toys r us by the kids and all they had was the regular Duncan butterfly and stuff. Favorite yo-yo so far is one drop prescription. Iâm pretty much a intermediate thrower just trying some of the advanced tricks on here.
Hey, my name is Fiona, I have been yoyoing for two years now. My favourite throw is my gold shutter
Welcome!
Hey,
My name is Michal, Iâm 24 and Iâm from Poland. Iâm throwing yoyo for like 6 years, but I had many break ups during this time due to studying. Now I have a bit of free time, so Iâm trying to reactivate my hobby.
Your studying comes first, then you can throw on breaks. Welcome.
Hi, my name is Cristian. Iâm fairly new to yo-yoâs. I first picked one up because my dad had an old one and did the classic tricks. I was amused by this, and turned to YouTube to learn walk the dog and the Eiffel tower⌠I watched video after video on all these different tricks, and decided I wanted to get a good yo-yo⌠My first yo-yo was YYF Velocity, and I loved how it made it easy for me to learn unresponsive⌠fast forward a couple months and now I think iâm ready for a metal(at least now i think my face will survive one XD). Anyway, as a Yo-yo(er?) on a budget, I looked around till I landed here, bought my yoyo, and am ready to learn some more.
Current Yo-Yo: Velocity(Black and Blue) and Shutter(Blue-Grey Fade)
Favorite Player: Gentry Stein and Ann Connolly
Wishlist Yo-yo- Probably the YYF Edge or the Titanium Shutter
Hi,
Iâm Captain Caveman, from France (Iâll do my best about grammar, I swear), middle aged man but young yoyo thrower. Iâve been doing diabolo younger and re-discovered yoyo about one year and a half ago. I havenât progress so much since then, because of a knife, a ring finger and my dumbness. A sad story. That ends well, âoufâ as we say in France.
I didnât fill the âwhatâs your favourite yoyoâ line, because as a (geek) beginner, I try everything that falls in my hands, to see what suits me the best. Iâm intersted with 1 and 2 A. 1A 'cause itâs great and reminds me of diabolo, 2A 'cause itâs great and itâs the image most people have of yoyo so I can impress them. And then all the ladies are in love with me and all the guys want to be my friend. Well, thatâs the plan, weâll seeâŚ
I have some loop 1080 and initiator for 2A, A dark magic II, A rogue and a galsang for 1A. And a few more that will arrive soon.
I didnât fill the âwhatâs your favourite trickâ either, because my favourite tricks are all those I make succesfully (not so much). I can bind, double or nothing, slack somethings sometimes, flip around, things like that. I have as much fun as my 6 yo son. Maybe more. I love that. So here am I, to learn new things, to meet new people.
Donât listen to the tiny voice saying Iâm here with the devilish wish to have all your rare and nice yoyos by trading them for stinky cheese, itâs jealousy.
Progress to me is measured by how much fun throwing is and age does not matter. So, WELCOME!
My name is Zach venegas and i am 13 years old and i had the passion to yoyo for years, but i started not learning tricks 2 years ago and got into kondoming. I got back yoyoing just 4 months later i even know how to do slack trapeze. I am also very excited to try your products and more. My favourite yoyoers are Gentry Stein, even nagao, and Paul Kerbal. My favourite trick is either sucide, a trick i am practicing, and binds. Thank you
Hello! My name is James. Iâve been yoyoing for about a year now. Figured it was time to make an account here. I hope to make some friends and have some fun
Hello! I am Sidney, a highschooler. My story connected to yo-yo is far less emotional than many of the other replies here, but I still believe it to be important to share. I have always been very focused on 1-2 things. When a received a Yomega Spectrum as a present, I decided to give it a try. I have very poor fine motor and hand eye coordination skills, so even bringing the yo-yo back up was a challenge! Fast forward 8 months to the present, and I yo-yoâs are one of the most important things in my life. I yo-yo for 1-3 hours every day, and I am constantly pushing myself to learn and create new tricks. Some of my best accomplishments include Toru Miyazakiâs tech combo, Andrew Maiderâs GT, and Zack Gormleyâs star. I recently joined the forum, and I will be happy to interact w/ other yo-yoâers more, rather than âsolitary yo-yo.â
What are you doing here when you could be throwing?!
Hey Everyone, long time yoyoer first time forumerâŚif that makes sense
