Introduce Yourself!

Hello my name is Nathan I am 12 and my favorite yoyo is the dark magic. I can do all of the beginner to intermediate tricks. And I’ve made up a few of my own.

Dude, MOST metals are not suitable for beginners, but the GM is an exception. My friend has one, and its responsive beyond the point of no return. It doesn’t have a response recess, its just metal and gap friction. Thats all it has for response, and it is responsive. Put a sticker there, and it is good for a beginner.

But then again, its not the best choice, its highly recommended to follow the buying guide i posted earlier to choose another yoyo.

Are you guys talking about this yoyo?

No, that yoyo is for pros.

This is what we’re talking about, YoYoFactory Grind Machine | YoYo Wiki | Fandom

This is the real “Grind Machine”. If he’s talking about GM2, then all my advice was wrong.

But the metal grind machine is really responsive.

well, that dude said metal GM

Hey guys! I’ve started yoyoing about a month ago, and I’m hooked xD I can only do intermediate tricks for now, but I’ll move on soon!
I use a SpeedMaker now, but I want to get a Speeder or an X-ConVict. I found out about here from… Google, I guess, when I got my SpeedMaker. It’s a great site, and… Hello, I guess XD

Hey everyone 8)

The name is Chris, and just came across these forums today. I first learned some yo-yo about 25 years ago when my dad showed me the few things he knew. Mainly that you are supposed to creat a slipknot in the loop instead of putting your finger in the loop ;D I thought I was pretty cool as a kid to know that. He tough me how to do a sleeper, a simple retrieve, and his topper was a hop the fence.

Since then I’ve picked one up now and then and messed around with those tricks, and walk the dog, around the world, and something like a forward pass. I never really knew how to do anything and had only seen the “pro” guys a few times. Last week I decided to try to actually learn some things so I’ve been across a few sites the last several days. I’ve usually played with a Yomega Fireball because you can find them in local stores now and then. I bought a pair of Profires last week too, and that’s what I’ve been using.

Over the last few days I’ve learned the elevator, breakaway, and some decent loops. I’ve ordered a few more yos to try the variety, and went mainly with what I saw recommended the most: a veloctiy, a 720, and a pair of pulses. I really like loops more but I feel like I’ll probably want to learn some string tricks soon too.

I found this site by a link on YoYoNation forums, where I’ve been mostly lurking for a few days. They have a nice forum too but from my short time on both I think the “atmosphere” here is much more friendly. Anyway, thanks for hosting such a great place and thanks for having me!

I agree. Youre in the right place.

Hello,

My daughters received yoyo’s as a birthday party favor and after the first few throws promptly broke them. They seemed to want to keep trying so we went to target and picked up some Duncan ProFires.

I never learned to yoyo as a kid and decided to checkout the what the internet could teach me.

A few weeks later and only one of my daughters is still interested (slightly) but I now have my own Duncan Profire, Duncan Imperial and Henry’s Lizard. Found this site through a recommendation by a store clerk and loved the video’s. I am still on the beginners tricks but am having a blast.

The Lizard seems like a good intro butterfly and I am now looking for a good intro imperial that won’t break the bank.

The Lizard was one of my first I acquired as well (given to by my kids for my B-day). Lasted me well through advanced. Upgraded to New Breed a couple of weeks ago.

Hi, I’m K. Currently playing with a CustomYo Reactor and a YoYoJam Hitman (Reactor mainly for a pocket yoyo). Favorite style is string, and currently learning 5a (counterweight). Been yoyoing for about 2 years now, started with a Duncan Freehand. So, yeah, that’s me.
