New guy here, 61 years old! Last time I was into yoyos was 1967, and just got back into it about 2 weeks ago. Things have changed a lot since then. So far I have a Skyva, Sage, Replay Pro, Gargantua, Diffusion 2. The YYRās are definitely the best of the bunch. The Skyva aināt too shabby either.
Just ordered a One Drop MMC for my first foray into metal, and a Cabal to see what delrin is all about. Learned how to bind about a week ago. Having tons of fun!!!
As for One Drop, I went with Organic shape, since thatās what I remember so long ago with my Duncan Butterfly. Really looking forward to trying them, and sorting out what I like, and what works best for me nowā¦

Yeah, but just barely! It was a generic no-name wood yoyo I got in my Xmas stocking when I was 5 years old. Took it to kindergarten show and tell. After that I got a green Duncan Imperial, and then a few Butterfliesā¦
I felt like I was living large in tiny town with my trusty Butterfly!!!
I plain wore out my Butterfly.

Iām Lacuzu667 and I am an 18 year-old from the United Kingdom. I started yoyoing when I was around 9-10 years old when the NED show came to my school and did a yoyo demonstration. It was there when I got my first yoyo from the NED show: the Cosmic Spin (which I still have at the time of this post). Yoyo has been an on and off hobby over the years until last year when I started playing with some old yo-yos. Now, Iām taking the hobby more seriously now and Iām going to try to be more active in the yoyo community.

Hey, I am just starting to look into these new types of yoyos. I have always had yoyos growing up and had no idea that there were so many out there! I want to get back into yo-yoing and donāt want just a beginner yoyo, but also donāt need anything too fancy. Iāve been looking at the brands yyo, yyf and c3yoyodesign. I was curious if anyone new which brand is better quality overall. Thank you!
Hey everybody. New here, 34 yrs of age. Just got back into throwing again after about 10 yrs. I wasnāt very good back then and have far surpassed what I could do back then. Itās been about 2 months and Iāve both like 8 throws already lol. Iām deep in it. I will post some pics of some goodies on the " what did you get in the mail this week" forum. So I just dusted off my old wooden yoyo from 25 years agoā¦ gave it a couple of throws. Enjoyed it and then went online to see what was out there. OMGā¦ its insane. I thought clutch axles were state of the art!
So needless to say I went out and got a Hildy Brotherās Currier to keep things old school and familiar. The fist one I got broke its axle mid throw in less than a week. The axle wood was all spongy. Yoyoexpert was super awesome and sent me a replacement so I was back up and running no time. The broken one got rebuilt with a brass rod axle. (Its nice. It sleeps easier and longer and is just a touch more heavy than the all wood one.) Then I went out and got a fancy unresponsive Replayā¦ well maybe not so fancy, but Iām just testing out the waters with this unresponsive stuff. Its not going so wellā¦ Binds are the work of the devil! And then I scooped up a Spintastics Tornado 2 and a Yoyo King Everloopā¦ which I think is a new version of the Spintastics Technics. I seriously like the Spintastics stuff. (I need to find a Spintastics Comet, if I can.)
This all in the course of three weeks. I think I might have a problem.

I do not know what āvery oldā is but this old man (whoās beginner throw was a wood axle Butterfly)says WELCOME to the throw. There are many inexpensive throws such as ONE or CLASSIC or SPEED-A-HOLIC that are good learning tools. Also the tutorials here a excellent.
