Introduce Yourself!

Sup man! I’m Bill I’m 26, I’ve been throwing for a year and I lost my 2013 Hubstack genesis and it’s killing me !!! I currently replaced it as my everyday throw with my shutter. Dude too funny, same name same yoyos (except I have a lot more now and my BVM2 is prob my fav since my genesis is gone) and we have both been throwing for about a year and a half. Welcome to the forums man!

Hey! I’m Ricardo and I’ve been Yoyoing for 3 years. I’ve been Yoyoing off an on during those years. I’m currently throwing a yyf bloody murder horizon and I keep my yoyo collection small. I have a g funk, horizon, pop star, severe, and shaqler star (that I’ve modded for off string). I joined to get inspiration becuase I have a lot of weird combos but it takes me about 4 months to come up with one combo lol.
That’s all I have to say. I’m looking forward with throwing with all you people here.

Hey guys, I’m Joey. I just bought my first “real” yoyo earlier today while afterchristmas shopping (I had a yoyoball, and some electronic yoyo that counted the number of times you could bring it up and down when I was a kid). It was a Duncan Butterfly I found for $1.75, and I loved it so much, I went to the ToysRUs next door, and bought a $10 two pack with a Duncan Speed Beetle and Proyo immediately after opening and playing with a yoyo for the first time in 10 years, I’m 23 now. So fast forward a few hours, and I loved these so much, I did some google research and just bought a YoYoJam SR-71 about 3 minutes ago.

I do have quite a few expensive hobbies, so I probably won’t exactly be getting a new yoyo all the time, but I do think I have a lot of learning to do until I even should look at getting other yoyos.

Anyway, I’m excited to start learning more than just how to use a yoyo in the first place, and I’m glad I found this site.

yo mates, I like to yo-yo

Don’t worry about getting more yoyo’s. With the ones you have you can learn a lot. Just start at the beginning of the learn section and remember to have fun.

picking it back up. I took my son to the toy store several months ago and saw a fireball, the yoyo I used to have in high school. I bought it and started learning some string tricks and have since upgraded to an unresponsive yomega dash, and a yoyofactory grind machine. I’m starting to get consistent with my tricks and thinking about getting a high end throw, any suggestions?

2 of my favorite throws are the czm8 and the shutter, they’re not high end, but they are really good for the money

Hi, my name is Clay. I’m 24, recently started yoyoing here in South Carolina. I used to mess around with an x-brain when I was a kid, then completely forgot they even existed haha. Then a few months ago I saw a video of Zach Gormley and was blown away. I had no idea throwing like that was possible! I started exploring all the other great throwers as well and bought myself a one drop gradient and started throwing and I have a blast doing it! My wife can’t believe I have so much fun with a yoyo haha. Anyways I’m looking forward to getting to know this community and maybe getting involved in the Buy sell trade in order to get my hand on some different throws to experiment with and see what I like!

Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and yo-yoing in general. Let's see, my name is Kent and I'm 23. You can call me either by my name or my screen name, it doesn't really matter to me. I found out about YoYoExpert from watching how-to trick videos on YouTube.
About ten years ago I had a friend who was kind of into yo-yos but I didn't get into it myself. I learned to rock the baby and that was the only trick I could do unless you count throwing a sleeper. A little less than 2 weeks ago at a Christmas party I received a Duncan Imperial as a gift and it awakened something inside of me. I went out and bought a Duncan Butterfly XT at Target and ordered a Yomega Raider online and now I'm hooked.
My favorite trick I've learned so far is probably Loop the Loop. I can do all of the basics on this website and a few other tricks except for UFO (and I haven't tried Jamaican Flag, either) but it just feels so cool to throw a loop or two. As of right now my favorite yo-yo I have is my Yomega Raider. But I did buy a Yomega Crossfire yesterday though so it may change soon.
I'm not sure what else to say so I will leave it at that. I'm glad to be joining this forum and I hope to talk with you guys soon!

welcome stirkrazy here you will find all you need to advance you on your obsession…

Hello. My name is Monroe and I have been yo-yoing since I was 4 when I started yo-yoing and my first yoyo was the Duncan Butterfly. All I could do then were tricks like walk the dog and the sleeper. Now I am 10 and I have gotten into advanced yo-yoing. My favorite yoyo so far is the Shutter.

Welcome! the Shutter is an excellent yoyo

Hello everyone, I have recently come back to yoyos. I use to play a bit when I was in middle/high school. This was when looping yoyos were it for the most part and around the world was awesome. Well recently I wanted a hobby for my wife and I. Something we could do anytime and anyplace. So for Christmas I bought 2 yomega packs for my wife and i. Hers was the basic brain, fire ball, raider. Mine was the raider, maverick, ooch. Her pack is perfect for her. I had a raider back in the day, so I thought I would start there and go to the maverick for string tricks. Long story short, I didn’t like the maverick, half the time it was responsive, the other half it wasn’t. The ooch kept ripping strings. It would get caught under the bearing and tear. Went through all the extra strings in like 30 minutes. So I returned my pack, and decided that I also didn’t like small yoyos either. So now I spent a week reading reviews. There area lot of bands. When I was young it was Duncan and yomega. Now it’s omgwtf. Most people however go with YYJ and YYF from what I can read. So i bought what most websites (especially yoyoexpert, ■■■■■■■■, and ■■■■■■■■■■) and people ranted on, the dark magic 2. Now this is a great yoyo with 2 bearings for responsive and unresponsive play. So now I had my raider ( wife gave me hers) for looping, and dm2 for string tricks. But I didn’t want to open and change my yoyo over and over. So I decided to get a 3rd yoyo for unresponsive. After more reviews, the YYF Shutter is what I went with. Spins forever, all metal, proven its worth, and it has a wide gap to catch the string. So I have my 3 picked out, all plastic looper (raider), hybrid string responsive (dm2), and full Metal unresponsive (shutter). I couldn’t be happier. I m starting to use the shutter more, forcing myself to bind and learn. For those hunting for a yoyo I would suggest one of the 3. Raider ($10-15)is great for looping and all basic tricks, dm2 ($45-50) is a great all in one yoyo, and the shutter($45-50) is a perfect unresponsive string yoyo. Sorry for the long post all, but thanks for reading my thoughts.

I forgot to throw in there, what do you all think?

Thanks.
Steven.
