I’m new here, from the UK and was hoping for a bit of advise from you experts…
I was pretty good when I was 10 years old but that was 25 years ago and I’m hoping to get a new yoyo and start doing tricks again. I guess that makes me kinda intermediate and wanted to know what sort of mid range yoyo you guys would recommend. I’ve seen a promotional thing saying maybe the Yomega Raider, Duncan Bumblebee or the Dragonfly. Any ideas?
If you want to learn looping and classic tricks, any of those would be fine. If you want to do modern string tricks (I mean 1A style), you’ll be wanting something different. If you want an inexpensive start, there are lots of options like the YYJ Classic, YYJ Legacy II, YYF Velocity, Adegle PSG… ask in the main forum and you’ll be inundated first with questions (“what style do you want to learn, what is your budget?”) and then advice. Most people won’t see your question here in this thread.
Hi, im modman10’s brother. I am from long beach California. I have benn throwing for 1 year, but I stoped prity much the whole summer so now im geting back in to it. modman10 (David) found yoyoexpert about 1 year ago, and we have benn using it ever since. I made an account last night cause I have benn watching david, and I was geting frustrated cause I dont want an email, so I used my moms. my favorite yoyo is the G5 by yyf, but I realy want to get some C3yoyodesign (there yoyos are beast). i realy want to get another G5 because I know a guy who will trade a yyf yuksta and a crucal A.Y.C.E (all you can eat) for it, so if you have a G5 that you dont want pm me.
Howdy folks. My name is oscillator. I started yoing in late 1998. Took a break in 1999. Started again in 2003…took a break in 2004. Well…guess I’m back in.
Hey all, I’m Luca! I started yoyoing when I was 12 then stopped. 11 years later I have started up again thanks to my husband and my yoyoing friend. I’m happy to have found this forum and I look foreword to being part of the community.
Hey everybody! I’m Henry, I’m from Florence, Oregon, but am currently living in Corvallis Oregon. My favorite yoyo would hands down have to be the Cascade by Onedrop.
I am Nikolai and I am pretty much brand new to the world of yoyoing as of August 2012. I had a dream that I won the yoyo Olympics and won gold medals and I woke up that morning wanting to play with yoyos. No joke…
I played with them back in the day when the yomega firestorm was like $30 and it was the best thing out there since the x-brain! Now I own a Duncan metal drifter, a grind machine, and a whip and I have found my love to be in unresponsive string trick yoyos. My next good yoyos I plan to get would be the yoyoexpert token and the dark magic II.
I have been playing for at least an hour a day and I can really see the progress as I can do such tricks as lacerations, matrix, Buddhas revenge, grinds with ease. I am even inventing some tricks of my own and I will soon post videos for them online.
So… My name is jp and I’m 24 and from central mass. I’ve been throwing for about a year now but have been a fan of the sport since I was a kid throwing xbrains and butterfly’s. My favorite throw I own is either my dv888 or modded lyn fury. As far as pro throwers I am a big fan of gentry stein and Ann Connelly. Both have very clean styles. I have made music my whole life but recently decided to step away from it in order to focus on the birth and raising of my first child(who will have a yoyo before she will be able to say yo). This also allows me to spend more time throwing and enjoying the fun and culture that comes along with it. There is not many if any throwers in my town so I haven’t been able to join a club yet but I plan on doing so as soon as I find one. Once I feel like I am good enough to throw in contests I def will but I am more interested in them for the fun that’s involved. I have never thrown with another thrower and am looking forward to that day very much. I am going to start a club in jan 2013 if I don’t find one by then so if your from central mass and are reading this please email jppellerin@ymail.com and let’s make it happen. I also have a YouTube channel where I post collection vids, reviews, combos, vlogs, and more. YouTube.com/TheYoSourceTV
Hi, my name is Ryan. I live in Vancouver, Wa. I have had yo-yo’s for many years. Never really learned to do anything more than sleep or rock the baby. For some reason I have become interested in learning tricks. I still have a couple of old wooden yo-yo’s, a looping and a butterfly type, and a Yomega Powerspin, the one based on the Fireball. When I was looking to restring these I ended up purchasing several new ones. A Yomega Raider, Yomega Maverick, a YYF 201, and a Duncan Drifter. I am looking to meet and hook up with some people to help me get started. I am a student at Portland State Universtiy and spend a lot of time there. If there is a group around Vancouver, or around PSU, I would like to meet up.
Hi, My name is Zhorik and have been yoyoing on and off since I was little. But I haven’t seriously gotten into it until last week. Now I’m just saving my money for a new Yo-yo. ;D
Hello everyone Im Evan, I am 14 years old and started yoyoing at 11, stopped for about 2 years and have just got back into it. I got good with a Yomega fireball but regret the shape. I later changed from fireball to saber raider which was a little better but finally decided to get a yoyojam. I got a journey and learned a lot of trick like double or nothing and atomic bomb. I decided to splurge on a YYF Plastic Grind Machine. I love it but need a metal or hybrid. My favorite trick is Kwijibo, or matrix. I cant wait to get a new yoyo
