I’m new I’m 12 I live in Louisiana and I play all sports
Hello guys. I’m a 66 year old lad who had not spun a top in over 56 years, until this week. Thank God it was like riding a bicycle and I was able to spin a Spintastics Blizzard from the first throw. As a kid, less than 10 years old, I had a bunch of Duncan spikers, two steel whistlers and a couple of tops we called ball points. The Duncan spikers cost 10 cents a piece at the corner store.
I never learned tricks, except I seem to remember tops spinning on my hand (have no idea how they got there). My buddies and I just played, for hours, in an ally on Chicago’s South side. We played battle tops and also threw our tops high into the air in the hope they would land on and split someone else’s top. Never happened, but it was fun to try.
Thus far I have purchased a Spintastics Blizzard and Trompo Grande with fixed tip. Also picked up a Duncan Sir Duncan off Ebay. I’ve also ordered a battle top from Andy at Woodtops.com and a Guillia from YoYo Experts. I’ve purchased all these tops because I’m trying to find the top that’s most comfortable for me. I’ve not yet spun the Trompo Grande but really like the Blizzard. The Sir Duncan did what I thought it would do, but did not seem as smooth as the Blizzard.
Now, while I am still on the right side of the grass, I plan to introduce the joy of spinning tops to the children in my church’s Children’s Ministry, in which I help out. I took the Blizzard to Bible Study on Wednesday evening and before classes began, I threw the Blizzard for a while in the church’s gym and quickly drew a small group of kids who had never seen such a thing. I felt like the Pied Piper. Now I plan to get them spinning using one of my tops and will get those who would like one, a top of their own, just so they can learn and enjoy on their own.
Best regards,
Bill
Life is indeed good.
Hi Everyone!
I’m 28, and just recently got back into Yo-yo after buying a Duncan butterfly at the mall. As a kid I played with the same type of fixed axle yo, and then later with The Brain when they came out. Until a month ago, I had no idea about ball-bearing axles and the amazing feats that are now possible with yo-yos. Realizing the butterfly wasn’t going to allow me to learn those kinds of tricks, I purchased a YYJ Journey, which turned out to be a great starter yo for string tricks. Now I’m waiting on a DMII (due in tomorrow!) and I’m really excited to find this forum, along with all of the great tutorials and videos!

Hello, my name is Jason, i’m 14 years old (almost 15) and live in Ohio, i started yoyoing when i got a yomega fireball for christmas one year and wasn’t really interested. Then earlier this year i got back into and started learning basic tricks, after improving my skills i started looking for higher quality yoyos on the internet and found yoyoexpert. I have been looking at the forum for a while as a guest and finally decided to become a member.
Hi my name is Andy Jacko, I am 35 and from Manchester, UK and yes, I support Manchester United…
I have only recently gotten back into YoYo’ing after a gap of probably 20+ yrs…when I was a kid I won several competitions using the Russell “Coca-Cola” YoYo’s and probly gave it up when I discovered girls & illegal activities…
It seems that new YoYo’s are a lot more advanced than when I was winning competitions doing 30 loops, around-the-world and walk-the-dog
I got myself a Magic YoYo T9 “Dark Angel” and it’s awesome, time to start learning some new shizzle…
Peace…
i’m ony started about a year ago took a few months off and going strong now.
Welcome to the forums everyone hope you find them friendly and helpful. C=
Hey Every Body.
How Are You?
Im Alaa Jwiehan And Im 14 Years Old And Of Course Im A YoYo Player.
I Take YoYo Very Seriously Not Like Every Body Around Me.
In Joradn (Where I Live) People Think That YoYo Is Just A Toy But After I And Some Guys Who I Introduce To Play YoYo Did Some Performences With YoYo In Some Malls People Start To Get Into YoYo And It’s Thing.
I Am The First Person Who Play YoYo In Jordan.
By The Way, Jordan Is In Mid-East And Im Arabic And If You Look For YoYo Players In The Arabic Areas You Wont Find More Than 50 Players And Most Of Them Play With 1$ YoYos Because There is no Stores Or Any Contests Here So Theres No Support For YoYoing.
The First Ever Contest For Arabs Was From YOYOFACTORY(2011 Aug.) And It Was A Video Contest And 10 Or 11 Players Entered The Contest, After That They Pick The Top 5 Players And I Was One Of Them And The 5 Players Recived a Metal YoYo And Plastic YoYo And A Pair Of Loop900 And Some Stickers, For Me I Have Recived A Nova And A Protostar,After That YOYOFACTORY Said That Theres Will Be A Finel Challenge In A Month But We Waited And After A While They Canceld The Contest And i Was Very Sad, And When I Ask Them They Say That Theres Some Players Who complained That They Haven’t Been Picked For The Finel Challenge.
Thats It For YoYoing Part.
Beside YoYoing Im A Magicin And I Do Magic Shows At Parties
Oh,In Case You Are Wandering How I Get Into YoYoing: I Was Warching T.V And I Saw An Interview With Some YoYo Players And I Liked It So i Got A YoYo And Start YoYoing.
My Fingers Really Hurt.
That Is My Story And I Will Be Glad To Here Your replies.
Bye…
24, picked up yoyo again after a ten year hiatus. my fourteen year old self is thrilled!
We are basically in the same boat. Learn to play unresponsive, and dedicate yourself to it just like you probably did when you were fourteen. What yoyo were you thinking about buying?

Hi,
I’m Tenzing
I used to play with those old fixed axle yo-yos as a kid, then grew out of it.
Then I don’t know what, but I just decided to google ‘yo-yo’ and then I sort of got this thing for yo-yos again.
It’s been over a month now,
learning day by day,
trick by trick.
On a side note,
I got my brother to start yo-yoing with me too.
Spread the love of yo-yoing! ;D
This is Raul Alberto Sanchez Reyes
I <3 yoyos
I have been playing for about three months
And I’ve been progressing as well as I could by myself.
I know of two other people that play in my town.
I learned trough one of them about this site.
I like the roller coaster and the gyroscopic flop.
And I love learning new tricks,
My favorite yoyo is my
Dark Magic I
I use it to practice but move on to my cafe racer
and then play on my Mighty flea
But I own
Dark Magic II yoyojam
Mighty flea yoyofactory
Cafe racer one drop
Man vs bear clyw
I’m trying to find a new yoyo for my collection any recommendations
My name is Chris. I started as a loop tricker back when i was 12 didn’t do anything fancy. I could do like rock the baby, and walk the dog. About three months ago I took up the hobby again, kind of a quit smoking thing. Three months later, and alot of time watching Andre, I have completed all the tricks up to Rewind Plastic Whip took me a few weeks, but I got it like fluid now. On to Rewind. Well good yoing, and chat with you all soon.
Hello there fellow throwers :).
My name is Andrew but im known as Scar on the forums. Back when i was 9 i played with yoyo’s and did basic tricks because i couldnt do anything else. I gave up with yoyo’s and soon moved on to play yu-gi-oh competitively. Many factors made me quit yu-gi-oh and i needed a new hobby. So i decided to pick up a yoyo once again in 2011 and have been playing for around a month.
Fellow Thrower,
Scar
Just bought my first serious yo yo, a YYF One (although years ago I bought and messed around with a Tom Kuhn Flying Camel), and I am excited to start learning tricks. Got inspired by a guy named Troy who works at the 5th Avenue mall in Anchorage and has an amazing arsenal of tricks.
a happy welcome to everybody above me ;D hope you like the forums
