Thanks ;D

Good afternoon all. My name is Shaq and I just started yoyoing for the first time since my childhood last December. I have gotten really into it and can do a few tricks from each level of the yoyo expert list. I am working on completing the physical list in its entirety. If you happen to be in the Washington DC area, hit me up so we can throw down.

Hi! My new found yoyo addiction is pretty new, I just got my first yoyo a few weeks ago (Yomega Maverick). Since then I also grabbed a YYF Velocity thinking it would be a good yoyo to learn string tricks… however I still mostly use the Maverick since it sleeps and throws much smoother than the Velocity.

I think my next yoyo will be the Dark Magic II since it seems to be the better of the $40-50 throws for my level of skill… but I am open to suggestions.

I like the feel of my aluminum yoyo, but I would like to try one of these hybrids before I throw down $100 on a decent aluminum beast… maybe the Spyy Addiction… just based on how that damn thing looks

Since I have picked up my new habit, I have passed my addiction to a couple friends who now like to dabble with the yoyo… any good recommendations on a good cheap throw I can buy them to get them started… I had thought about these two as options…

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Welcome hope you like it here.

I would go with the Whip it’ll take them further in the long run seeing as how it takes silicone. Just keep in mind the Whip is unresponsive.

Also for yourself you may look into the Raptor (39.99), DV888 (44.99), or the JK (23.99). They are all cheap good metals.

I would not recomend the addiction because its bearing seat is a little deeper than most yoyos so the gap for your string is smaller and it does not have the spin time that I thought it would. If you are going to spend that kind of money on a yoyo from spyy then get the solaris or the pro, they are both great and amazing yoyos that can be used for competiton even.

Hey guys I’m looking to start yo-yoing although I’m absolutely broke right now I hope I’ll be able to get some cash to buy a yoyo. Hope someone can recommend me a yoyo I’ve used a YYF northstar before that was my friends set responsive but don’t have the money for one like that

Welcome.

You can’t go wrong with a Prelude,Whip, or JK (If you can pay for that. 23.99).

(Note all of those but the Prelude should come unresponsive so you should learn to bind. See YoYoExpert.com - Intermediate - Bind Returns)

Hope you can get your hands on a good yoyo soon. ;D

Hey, I recently picked up a YYF Protostar. It is my third yoyo and after a 2 year long hiatus I am back at it. I was getting to the point where I could land tricks like White Buddha, but my Dark Magic got a crack in it and it went downhill from there. I hope to learn from the people here and offer what I can in the many throws to come.

Well welcome hope you like it here. ;D

Hey all - I’m a lifelong yoer, but the kind who’s always played a cheap yo-yo until it breaks and then let it slide until I got the impulse to pick up another. Only basic tricks up until now - but I got back into it recently after realizing I needed a new hobby after my old hobby became my career.

I picked up a shinwoo phantom because it’s soooo pretty (and cheap, too), but I probably need to move up to something better in the near future. I’m just happy I figured out how to bind. It makes me feel cool.

Welcome enjoy our forums and feel free to ask questions.

Yeah that’s how I and many others got into yoyoing messing around with a Butterfly or an Imperial then finding out there’s a whole new world to yoyos.

Hi guys! I’ve only been yoyoing for 3 months now starting from 16 July… Currently I’m using a YYF FAST201. Currently interested in ‘Grinding’ skills. I hope that my skills will continue to develop at a steady rate as the days pass by since I became a part of this forum. I look forward to learning and sharing from and with you guys. You can just call me Haze. ;D

Hey, welcome to the forums. ;D

hey man u got love yo yos im obsessed with them and learning all the new tricks is fun i love it cool u are into the sport whats ur fav trick???

Hey whats up! My names Erik. Im 12 and ive been yoyoing for about a year. I currently own a skyline purple with gold splash. two diings though :( i can do every style except 2a i suck at it. It all started when my friend had a yomega exodus i was very interested. so i asked my mom if i could get a yoyo. So i looked online and saw that toysrus was selling duncan freehand2s and metal drifters. It was realy awkward because i was the oldest kid there. but it was worth it. At first i didnt know about this wonderful site. so i learned on my own: around the world, braintwister mount not the trick and rock the baby. then i went to the first day of 6th grade, at lunch i saw my friend moon with a grind machine and a whole bunch of people with a bunch of different yoyos i had my yoyo but i was embarrassed. but they let me be apart of their group. then i got a grind machine 2 and learned all of my tricks on this site. now i belong to the san diego yoyo club. and i hope to go to the chico yoyo contest. I really want to thank andre for his really explanatory trick videos.

Keep throwing California!

Welcome to the forums and also I am from california too but 2 hours from san diego.

Welcome! Have fun! I know what its like to come to a yoyo group and be a noob there. I used to be king of the hill when it came to yoyos at my school, but once i went to worlds I was blown away.

My name is Thomas and I have been yo yoing for a few year now and I just got back into it after a couple of years but I first stated out with a wooden yo yo. I liked it and it was fun, just had to be careful not to hit it on a hard surface because of course it would brake. I know a few tricks but I am still learning and if you can help me learn new tricks, let me know. It is nice to meet you all and have a great time playing with a yo yo.
