My name is Bill. I was part of the yo-yo fads in the 70s. Back then Yo-yos seemed to come and go about every 3 years. I still have my yellow glitter Duncan Imperial and I remember having a Duncan Butterfly as well
.
A couple years back I found in the house a Red unopened Yomega Fireball which I do not recall purchasing. This resparked my interest. Seemed as if I was destined to get back into it. I also found out all along the Duncan Factory (Flambeau) was a half hour from my house. Then on the internet, I saw that worlds were in Cleveland. Figured I’d check it out. I was hooked.
I went to worlds, not knowing anything about unresponsive. I met quite a few cool people. Like asking Michael Jordan about his shoes, I walked up to Mark Montgomery who was just standing outside the venue and asked him what kind of Yoyo he threw and why that one. He said he threw it cause he designed it. Yah kinda lame, but he smiled at my naivety.
I play old school and not very well. My new $100 collection has 2-loop360, Hornet, limelite, Pro-z, and a merlin. Plus lube, spare strings, bearing tool, belt holder and stickers. I got a $12 case at harbor freight to hold them. pix attached.
