I’m checking out some high-quallity 3a yoyos and I thought that maybe the iCEBERG classic would work. the width, shape and stability check out, so do any of the more experienced 3a throwers have any comments?
Ummm I wouldn’t recommend starting with a hybrid tbh eventually you’re going to want to do side style stuff like trapeze and wrist wrap stuff and the yo-yos are going to move straight into each other at Mach 50 so I would definitely recommend something durable so basically longer axle mono aluminum, as a beginner.
I agree whole heartedly with this. Hybrids wont last long in a new 3A players hands. They will start wobbling before you know it.
A mono metal pair is hands down the move. And once you get comforable enough to not smash them together at mach 50, then start saving up for a pair of bi metals if you want, a good bi metal pair will def help the learning process as they are more forgiving.
I don’t suggest starting on bi metals either, not totally because of the same reasons as hybrids, but because a PAIR of bi metals is alot of money to drop on a style like 3a where alot of people don’t stick to it.
I say, get a pair of mono metals, get HOOKED on 3a, then get a pair of bi metals.
Dunk rebounds are at the top of my list for 3a monos but finding a pair of them wont be easy or quick.
Ok, just took a look at the store to see any options that are in stock.
I would 100% go with a pair of yoyofriends Shortcuts.
Nice open catch zone, thick rims, 4.4mm gap and 60 bucks for a pair.
