Cool Llama, not tried that one before! When I get home from work I’ll make a post of the origami blog I did for last year. I folded something every week to build up to folding one of my favorite origami models that I’ve wanted to make for years.
lol that’s cute!
ok i can’t help but laugh
I haven’t heard of this one. Looks pretty neat though! I think it’s really cool that these little handhelds exist.
But I don’t really follow them because I’ve no interest in buying one anytime soon. I’ve got my Vita…it’s not perfect and emulation (mainly get some sound issues and slow down sometimes in certain games)…but it’s good enough for me .
Do you have a separate handheld you use for emulation? Does it work significantly better than your Vita?
ok i have 8 siblings so i’m sure i could train them to bring back wallets!
hmm i would like to 3D print stuff that sounds super fun
is fusion 360 free? designing a yoyo is actually something i REALLY wanna do
So now when you start posting a bunch of picture of new yo-yos you’re getting…we’ll know where all the money is coming from!
lol
hmm… i gotta find other wallets
I’ve got the Landscape version of the LDK which I’m really happy with. It’s got all of my old time favorite NES and SNES on there plus a load of various Gameboy games there too. I’d highly recommend one if you just want to play 2d style games. It says it plays PS1 games but I think it does struggle with frame rates and lagging. I tried Jedi power battles on it and it run but was so sluggish, I haven’t bothered with any more.
My Vita is un-modded, I’ve thought about mods but while the PSN feature is still active for the console I’ll leave it as it is. I’ve already invested a lot with the PS1 classics for my PS3 so I have a wide library to keep me content.
Do you have a PS4 too? I was using my Vita as a remote screen to play Hyper Light Drifter a couple of days ago while the tv was in use.
Yeah, that would be so awesome!
I’m not actually much into gaming anymore. I don’t have any of the modern consoles…that’s why handhelds are perfect for me. They’re just so easy to pick up and play every once in a great white.
I think I’ll likely pick up a Switch Lite eventually as my next gaming device.
fusion 360 is free for hobbyists (and students)
When you get the switch lite, you’ll have to let me know what you think of it. It’s been on my radar. Probably the closest thing to a modern day Vita.
so i can design a yoyo with fusion 360 and they won’t charge me?
Man, there are so many great suggestions here! I may go through this thread again to find a new hobby for myself!
Personally, I’d also recommend the music side of things. If you can sing, even a little, piano or guitar. Piano ‘cause it makes theory stuff so much easier to visualize and learn, which will serve you well even if you go on to other instruments or composition type stuff. Guitar is portable and versatile. Decent guitars are quite reasonably priced these days, and many budget models are surprisingly good. If you can sing at all, you can pretty easily learn the basic chords in very short period of time and accompany yourself, so just getting started rewards you pretty fast. But there’s a lifetime of learning in them thar’ strings, if you care to dive in deep.
i actually own 9 musical instruments! and yes Piano helps with other instruments GREATLY! if you know one string tuning then you know that entire string
Especially since they’re remaking Super Metroid ^_^. And that Link’s Awakening remake… just damn.
I’m surprised no one mentioned skateboarding. It’s a natural extension of yoyoing; just with your feet. And maybe some at home gymnastics and strength training so you can get those Shu-type reflexes. Rodney Mullen’s dad was a dentist and hyper protective, and he is still one of the greatest skaters and innovators alive. Watch his videos if you’ve never seen him. He invented a great amount of modern skateboarding. He practiced in his barn and garage by himself. 14 is the greatest age to start things like this. Just remember, everything takes time. While you may not feel like you’re progressing, your brain is undergoing a huge amount of myelination currently (making new neural pathways), so even when it feels like you’re not progressing, you are. Motor memory imprints in the cerebellum are being strengthened and refined through every attempt. Remember-perseverance and repetition, repetition, repetition; It’s the backbone of all learning.
