I heard somewhere about Hybrid yoyos. What are those? Somebody, please tell me more.
Is hybrid another word for bi-metal/bi-material? I too want to know more…

I’m pretty sure it’s just a plastic with metal rims, like a DM2 or a YYR Triad.
It can also refer to older yoyojam yoyos with a starburst response on one side, and o-ring response on the other.
What about yo-yos like P213 and the Active People Delta? They’re hybrids of yo-yo and spin top.
So, pretty much just another name for a yoyo with more than one material?
From what I’ve read, it’s a yoyo with more than one material or purpose. So yes

Pretty sure it’s what Doug said…
Neva evah heard it used referring to something else, but I’ve been wrong before.
Edit: Actually just found a couple European websites that refer to two materials as hybrid, so in some cases that can be what it means. In general it’s referring to response though.
I’m not sure it has a very standard definition in the yoyo world.
Whenever two things are blended into one, it would be a hybridization.
I usually hear it in reference to response systems, or plastic and metal in the same throw.
Hybrid Hitman, og speeder, black knight, og dark magic, Kickside, speed maker and more… are all throws that used a hybrid response. One half of the yoyo would be starburst and the other would be an o-ring recess.
What they said. 8)
