Here is a link that shows what actually happens inside the yoyo so you can better understand exactly what is going on:

When there is slack in the string, it grips the response, but it also makes a big difference which way the yoyo is spinning. Hope this helps. Keep practicing and you will get it. I promise. :slight_smile:
