Awesome. Do I need to strip it before I paint it?
Apollo2: Bcmaddog: Mikers:Creating a speckle/splashy effect with spray paint is painfully easy. Just pull back on the nozzle as opposed to pushing it down.
Grab a few sheets of paper or something you don’t mind getting paint all over and try it out.
To make a speckle you stand back and lightly push down and it will squirt out paint…
Okay you told me a secret, now heres mine:
Take a yoyo.
Strip it.
Paint it a color
Let it dry
Burn a candle and Drizzle wax onto the yoyo, or use cut up cursive stick on letters
Paint it another color
Let it dry
Peel off what you put on it
BAM!
Instant splash

I would.

Is it completely necessary?

It would be easier if I didn’t have to strip it. I have already sanded the rims btw

I didn’t steal it :o…
I just so happened to get Thank You’s from other members…
Not my problem that you got TY’s and so did I ;););)…
Ok I might try that. I’m thinking a coat of white, and then a neon green and neon orange speckle.
Black with that would be 10x better instead of white…

Ok then that is what I will do.
Paint base color
Spray splash color in paper cup
Dip brush in cup
Flick brush from distance onto base painted yoyo
Or
Dip brush in cup
Drizzle paint over base colored yoyo
Limited only by imagination
How do I mask it?
put an old bearing in it
Ok, so i want to paint my dv888. My question is would spray paint work, and if so, how do i do it?
Please Help!
airbrush it. It’s allot easier and can give the paint a nice spread. If not just go ahead and use spray paint it works fine too
yoyoguy345:How do I mask it?
put an old bearing in it
All my bearings are de-shielded. Would it still work?

Like would paint get through the bearing? I’m guessing it would, right?
Cut a piece of tape the size of your bearing and stick that over the seat.
Maybe you could silicone the bearing seat?

probably wouldnt work then
Cut a piece of tape the size of your bearing and stick that over the seat.
Yes…
But here is how i do it, put a piece of tape over the bearing seat, just straight across, then get a razor blade and carve out the circle to make it the right size…
Maybe you could silicone the bearing seat?
NOOOOO!!!
Yoyo_Kangaroo:Maybe you could silicone the bearing seat?
NOOOOO!!!
Why not? Silicone would work as a masking agent. If he covered it right, it would work probably better than tape, as he could mask exactly where he wanted to, which is easier said than done while using tape.

And if its the kind of silicone that doesn’t come out easily??
Like Blue gasket Masker?! (At least in my case it sticks and doesn’t come out whole…)
