Was working on hubstacking this Bolt for my buddy oldedges. Landon had previously shmooved and recessed it, which unfortunately weakened the walls to the point where when I tried pressing a new bearing seat in the whole hub broke out! Figuring the best thing to do with a batch of lemons was make lemonade, I proceeded to do a hub mod on it. I recessed a Born Crucial SPR with a BC small grooved bearing. On the hub area I decided to turn it into spikes. These things are SHARP!! Kinda looks like a witches hat, so I called it the Halloween Bolt!
Thats really clean. How are those crucial o-rings workin’ for you?
Thanks Leo. I like them. They were full o-rings, but I cut them a little recessed. They play great!
Ahh I see. How do the grooved bearings play? Last time i played one, it was kinda snaggy.
No problems at all with the grooved bearing. I have had one go bad pretty quickly, but it was probably just a bad bearing from the start.
Allright. Time to invest in some Gen 2 BC bearings.
