Gold wedding ring and stainless?

How do y’all feel about keeping on your gold wedding rings when throwing a stainless yoyo? I’m not too concerned about scratching the ring, I keep it on while rock climbing and other activities that scratch it a little, but would prefer not to scratch the yoyo. I’m thinking it’ll be totally ok since gold is softer than stainless but wanted to get thoughts before I proceed. Using aluminum throws with rings I’ve gotten paranoid about removing them.

No rings or keys in the pocket or belt buckles. No jeans with rivets. Nothing to scratch or scuff my stuff. Throw how you please, but this is how I roll. Oh, look up degloving when you get a chance. Maybe take off the ring when doing physical stuff

I bought a silicone ring that I’ve taken to wearing, most of the time. No worries throwing, working out, or with outdoor activities.

My ring has gotten beat up from throwing, I just switch to silicone because I didn’t like the noise. Gold is softer though, I’ve not seen a ding come from my ring.

Please, please, please rethink wearing a ring while climbing. Short of falling, they are responsible for some of the gnarliest injuries I’ve seen. Especially while crack climbing, or even just handling the rope. Silicone is a good stand-in, I like to wear rings on necklaces too, just make sure to tuck them into your shirt.

Thank you, I’ve taking a few years off climbing since having kids and I’m just getting back into it and I really hear what you’re saying. I’ll order a silicone ring today.

I haven’t been able to wear my wedding band in a year sense i lost weight and wear a cheap adjustable band but when I did have my ring I would rarely take it off and I usually wear a watch, glasses hat and my adjustable band and wedding band on a necklace which all these things can get in the way in some cases. Otherwise meh things get dings and marks I’m rough on my ring in general and used to get it replated every now and then

As for the throw embrace the dings they bring character

I ended up buying a silicon ring. Put the real ring in the jewelry drawer for safe keeping.

For jewelry related yoyo damage my watch is the major offender.

I play 2A and wearing the ring and playing at the same time is uncomfortable. I usually pocket it in my 5th pocket.

I don’t wear jewelry anymore, I used to tolerate the sensation of wearing it because it looked cool but now I have found my excuse to keep my wrists and fingers clear and I am keeping it. I do wear a necklace on occasion but that’s easier to avoid. Have dinged yoyos on my belt buckle though. I don’t really mind the dings as much as the rings and things get in my way during tricks.
