I’ve been looking for the best bi-Metal yoyo and was wondering what your opinions were. As I was looking at other posts along this line I noticed that most were pretty out dated so I decided to start a new one. I’m fairly new to yo-yoing but would like to upgrade to a bi-metal style yoyo. I don’t just won’t a good bi-metal I would prefer the best. As I was researching I had the impression that either Gentry’s shutter elite or Brandon’s outlier six are the best. Then again I have no personal practice and would greatly appreciate your opinions. I am also aware that the “best bi-metal yoyo” greatly varies depending on the style so if you have any recommendations would you please list what style you think it is best suited for. Thanks for the help.
There’s really no such thing as best, as there’s hundreds of great bimetal yoyos. It’s just a matter of what you like. As far as bimetals in general, be aware that they are more fragile than monometals. If you’re new and not past the smacking stuff with your yoyo phase, there’s a fair chance you could damage it. You really don’t hear much about the Shutters anymore, except from new players.
Shutter elite and outlier 6 are both garbage that ai will feed you. Other than that there isn’t really a best bimetal as everyone’s style varies. If you know your playstyle the yoyo you want should become obvious as time goes on. I prefer the c3 galaxy diver 7075v2 but that is truly just me.
If you’re going to get an offset yoyo I would recommend the outlier 5. That’s wayyy better than the 6.
The Defending World Champions ( Open 1A and Women’s) YoYo was used by several top tier players
And they can play whatever they want and they choose Miracle
best is really subjective as has been mentioned
a magnesium and stainless? titanium and stainless? aluminum and stainless? aluminum and titanium?
what shape?
that’s the cool thing about yoyos.. they’re all the same concept but all so very different.
the best i’ve ever played is the turning point alnilam but that’s just my opinion
Here’s a good question: what’s your budget for a bimetal? What yo-yos do you already have? What’s your favorite and why? What attributes do you look for in a yoyo?
These things will help narrow down suggestions, otherwise, as you have seen, answers are all over the place, lol
For budget somewhere in the one hundred range. I have a magic yo-yo’s N11 and V13 and have notated that the spin time is trash and can barely make it through black-hops. God speed would be a night mare. What would the you consider the different style categories to be?
Anything by wild to be honest. They’ve been pushing out some really good comp bimetals recently
Baryon. Oh..
Did you say best? Okay Baryon.
Oh, your best, and not mine? Well, that’s subjective. I’d say whatever gets you motivated the most, more than any specs, will give you better results.
If you care more about the specs just get anything super wide, or something not if you want to chopsticks. Miracle seems to be the preferred atm
Not positive about the very Best Bi-metal?
But I can narrow it down to the Top 50..
Yeah. Wild Wilder is a safe bet. Coming from a magicyoyo it will blow OP’s mind lol
Would you name those top fifty and why they make it on that list?
What makes you chose the Wilder over all the other yo-yos they produce?
There are many nice bimetal yoyos nowadays, which ones interest you?
Since they play for Yoyofactory.. they can really only compete with that.
Also I think they get a cut off their signature yoyo sales… So it makes sense that they play that.
That doesn’t mean it’s not an excellent yoyo because it is. Just that it’s a terrible argument for it being the best.
Objectively it has more wins than the Speeder if you include Miri’s wins, also a handful of other players also use it at Worlds even though they have their own signatures. Subjectively its an open ended argument

Subjective and all that… A recent bimetal I really enjoy throwing is the Shy, by W1LD. Really fun, high performing.
Really been liking my c3 Malicius and my Motion Synaptic. Still love the Duncan GTR-JS. Anything by Motion, anything by W1LD, anything by c3, are probably the safest (?) but I think it’s hard to really go wrong.
Keeping up on all your maintenance will improve spin times too. Clean bearing, fresh string, response pads how you like them, all that adds up to a better performing yoyo.
At this point I manly value long spin times and stability but also think that anything above fifty millimeters would just get in the way. Any yoyo that checks this list?
Seriously, I can’t even count to 50. As a matter of fact, if I keep my shoes on, I can’t even count to 11.
My answer was based on suggesting the reality that you could get 50 different answers because there are that many good bimetal yo-yos.
And the best player, does not necessarily use the best playing yo-yo. And many of the best playing yo-yo competitors aren’t necessarily competing with the best playing bimetal yo-yo.
And the best playing bimetal yoyo is not necessarily the best playing yo-yo for you.
Let’s move to the dream state for a minute. OK, you’re dreaming and you’re dreaming that you’re at a yo-yo contest. And everybody that enters into the venue is given a raffle ticket. You’re not really sure what it’s for, but you put it in your pocket anyway. They take a break in the middle of the festivities and a guy stepped up to the microphone and says I hope everybody held onto their raffle tickets because we’re giving away the Best… Irrefutably undisputably undeniably, the absolute greatest BIMETAL yo-yo ever designed manufactured and sold on the planet Earth. And the next thing you know, they call out your number. And you are now a possessor of the best yo-yo designed from two metals that can be had..
So the focus moves back to the contest festivities and you step off to the side to bust some moves with your new best in the world yo-yo bimetal. The world champion use the same yo-yo and he’s got four identical siblings that have four identical powers. And they do nothing but travel the world winning every yo-yo contest they enter using that same exact yo-yo.
Oh my God, you got it you can’t top it. It’s like a whole bag of potato chips and a classic Coke made with cane sugar. Who rules now?
After about 10 or 15 minutes, you suddenly realize you don’t like the shape. Or you realize you don’t like the weight. Or you realize you hate the color way. Or all of a sudden, you realize you can’t do your tricks with that sucker. And then all of a sudden you have an epiphany. You stand right there holding that yo-yo on your hand and staring at it and saying I wonder what I could get from somebody else at this contest that might want to trade for this great no better made yo-yo? Because I personally don’t care if it’s the best Bimetal yo-yo ever made used by world champions over and over again. It doesn’t jive with me. It doesn’t fit my preferences. I hate the color. It weighs too much. It’s too angular. I sure wouldn’t buy if I had to. I’m glad I won it because it’s too expensive blah blah blah.
And if you went to an after contest banquet dinner and sat down with 30 or 40 of the best players in the world and ask them if you have to have the best of the best yo-yo to win the best of the best yo-yo contest against the best of the best fellow competitors? And most of them would say you just need to be at our skill level and have somebody volunteer to throw their favorite yo-yo up on the stage and they’ll compete with that one and most likely win anyway.
So what’s the bottom line at the end of my standard oratory?
Very simple. There’s nothing really wrong with your question. But to get an answer etched in stone, you will have about the same success rate as getting molasses to run up a tree in the winter.
There are so many excellent bimetal yo-yo available today, you could reach into a bucket full of them blindfolded and whichever one you take out might be the best yo-yo you’ve ever thrown and then again everybody else in the room may love it, but you.
Personally, as a long time casual, Never competed player, my favorite bimetal ‘is’ the 25 Miracle. Even if Mir and his sister never used Miracles in their lives….. it’s just a Great yo-yo.
That being said, my Every Day Carry is a C3 Strelitzia, to me, the Best yo-yo I’ve ever thrown.
But, how many people are going to pay $600 or $700 for a Yo-yo?
There is nothing wrong with your question. But since the market is full of Excellent bimetal yo-yos, identifying the very best of them is subject to individual suggestions of what makes them the best, regardless of Contest winning Pedigree.
