Particularly durable throws?

like the title says, can you think of many throws that are especially durable?

(and why)

the OD Thorn comes to my mind thanks to the longle axle, but it is only 6061

Sincerely not trying to self-advertise but my Pop! Yoyos Weasel is nearly indestructible to normal damage and even takes extreme abuse in stride. The pictures below show the damage it sustained after giving it an extremely hard ding into concrete (almost more like I threw it straight down) and it was still 9.75/10 smooth. The full-release version (the one in the picture is a proto) should be just as durable but with a less stabby thorn. It’s a 7075 monometal and has a 16 mm axle iirc (either that or 12)

Other durable yoyos imo include the Mowl M, the JT jugemu (surprisingly), the C3 Krown, and of course most titanium yoyos.

I beat the heck out of an old shutter doing 5a with it outside, multiple concrete and asphalt strikes, still played super smooth. I just gave it away at a party last weekend to someone I taught how to bind with it, otherwise I’d share a pic

CLYW Beater comes to mind.

Unsure why I forgot about that yoyo but yes the beater can unsurprisingly take a beating lol

Not a popular choice, but the Throwback Canon was specifically designed to take a beating, even though it’s 6061. I’ve dropped mine quite a few times doing 5A and it still plays 9.5/10 smooth

Smashing yoyos Poppet.

It was designed for that specific purpose yet remains a good performer. I believe there’s a video showcasing how tough it is.

the yoyo still works!

Not to spam too much but I might run over this same yoyo with a car just to see what happens. I think it’ll live

Pretty much any well machined aluminum yo-yo is going to be durable. 7075 or 7068 Al yo-yos are technically tougher than 6061. Titanium yo-yos can really take a beating but you also have to pay more and honestly Al is already solid.

I would say that a Side Effect One Drop should last through a lot of abuse. Particularly since the side effect system eliminates concerns of stripping the axle threads. One drop has several 7075Al side effect models.

At one point @MaximShoots intentionally put the Edition Reflection through the wringer.

Lol funnily enough Smashing had ran over the Poppet with a car and it sustained it. They claim it was smooth still.

Yoyos w 6061 and 6mm or under axle lengths are definitely not durable bc they can strip by just looking at them. (Sorry I’m being a nerd w that like ehurm ackshewally)

I don’t think that is solely the softer alu grade or the shorter axle either but a combo of both of those things. Some of the yoyos I durability tested through 3a play by sometimes accidentally sending them directly into each other at mach 50 are 6061 but still have been fine bc they have exceptionally long axles.

Bimetals are naturally less durable bc the rims can shift but idk maybe the rims shifting allows the force to disperse instead of messing w the guts? Like how cars are designed for controlled destruction in a collision but I really don’t know. Just an idea.

I think it is pretty hard to completely destroy a metal yoyo to the point it is unplayable unless the axle strips.

The i one is pretty hard to kill so is the whip but look at a replay the wrong way and the seat will break off

I once reached a wall trying to learn tricks on my yomega saberwing. had enough and i went outside to smash it to bits. i did break it, but it took a lot of repeated full swings to the pavement just to get it to crack. the polycarbonate on those things is incredibly durable.
