I bet, if you go back and watch all my videos, this trick, or some variation, is in over half. It was one of the first tricks I “invented” that felt like I was, maybe, finally, starting to get good at this Yoyo thing
filmed a better/slower angle for ya
hardest part is the undercut with nth index that goes into the little triangle formed by NTH thumb and your TH middle finger
Yooo what a cool and fun giveaway! I love seeing everyone’s autopilot combos. I definitely don’t have like any longer autopilot combos but instead have a ton of my favorite elements/ groups of elements I do over and over and jam them together into different orders and combos.
I filmed like 3 different combos like that where I was just mushing elements together OFF THE TOP OF THE DOME! Lol all caps bc the flow is a bit janky and I kiiiiinda messed up the chopsticks slack I stole from an Eos44 trickcircle. lol I feel like this is an accurate representation of what autopilot means to me though so imma just post it instead of trying to get a prettier take.
I like talking tricks and imma talk about some of the elements now hah! I usually start with some variation of a magic drop. Idk why I just like them. The first slack feels good and is nice when you go magic drop to the front string. Gotta throw in the Dumshot beefhook bc it feels good. Next is a bit of filler so I can have a second to think a bit and BOOM—suicide. I just think suicides are really satisfying and I like this simple one out of 1.5 mount. From trapeze, I like to go into this Toya combo we did for trick a week this year and the end of it sets up a beefhook so well. I wasn’t sure what to do next so rolled around until I settled on the bergy rejection tower. I almost always drop to the undermount vs the red triangle and then almost always ripcord into trapeze and into that chopsticks element. I love the little mount cancel mount thing and decided I had hit enough stuff pretty clean so went to brother and ended with that like reverse gunshot type element that I know is a decently good way to end a combo because I can roll out and straight into a bind. If I was truly just vibing with no camera on I prolly would have kept going (and missed a bit more) but a lot of the elements I like are things that are more difficult and part of the reason I jam them a lot is to keep my consistency decently up with them. Didn’t want to get tooooo risky lol
Anyways thanks for setting up such a cool giveaway Brandon and good luck to all of y’all sharing your autopilot combos!
Mine is smoothie from trick a week that goes into kamakaze. I like the smoothie, because it helps with speed and flow. The kamakaze it there to force me to do magic drops and it just fits. Sometimes I change it up and mix other elements in, but it always starts with the smoothie.
Have you ever thought about making a tutorial for it?
There we go, got it to embed now. Featuring Shady the foster dog
I’ve sent @digitalcharlie a POV of just the rejection triangle thing, but I don’t think I have it anymore. I can check.
And I tried making a tutorial, for yo-inator, of Buddha hook, and I’m just too awkward and just straight up not helpful lol
I’m working on getting my confidence speaking on camera. I also need to get some proper filming equipment too or at least a way to film POV easier. When I did it for Charlie I just stuck my tripod through my belt and into my pocket it worked relatively well, but it certainly didn’t make throwing any easier.
I can maybe send you a very awkward, very PRIVATE message on instagram with an attempt at a tutorial. I can’t promise it will be good
Here’s my top three go to tricks!
I do them the most probably because they’re not too hard and I just like how they feel and look
I was literally just looking at the video last week because I got back on a rejection kick. I’ll send you an imgur link to it so you can do with it what you want!
my auto pilot. it’s the first combo i put together and so it’s the most comfortable. i add random elements here and there while i play, but it’s always this skeleton
Dis yo-you Sibyl Niceeeee
so many really fun tricks on this thread, thanks so much for sharing everyone!! some of my favorites so far are @mable’s 5A, @AtomicChessGuy and the sick stop’n’g triangle, @fradiger and the beefhook>gt, and @GTDropKnot’s crazy hook/suicide moves.
all of these have been great to see, cant wait to see what everyone else shares <3
What an awesome thing to reply to for my first post here. I’ve had an interest in yoyoing for a couple of years, but I have been really trying recently because I can do hard things and I want to demystify yoyoing. It always seemed like magic to me, and then I realized I can do it if I just practice. I learned The Matrix last week, and it was the first trick that felt like magic to me. Like an “I can do this thing” trick. This video was from when I first got it down. Now I do it for a few runs instinctively when warming up to practice my first speed combo, which is kicking my butt!!!
Edit: Fixed link, I think.
If you post the actual Imgur link (instead of the link button at the top) on its own line with no spaces after, it will embed on the page. Just like fyi and for other people about to drop vids
I do a random combination of elements at club cause I can barely YoYo and talk.
As you can see my daughter needed my attention lol I’ll try again later
This is basically the ~3 autopilots I’ve had that really stick with me all in a row. Big fun.
this is probably my autopilot combo, i usually mix and match a bunch of these elements. the arm combo is a trick that i couldnt nail down for a long time, so im happy that i can do it very consistently now. even if its not that hard.
Tried that—the video didn’t show up! That’s why I hyperlinked.
