Naw definitely a yoyo. It has black string. Or if it doesnt have a string, that doesnt make it less than a yoyo. Either way, silly thing to argue about.
I meant it was a yoyo that only served a decorative purpose in the kidās life.
Important only because I donāt consider such thoughtless inclusions as genuine āsightingsā that should earn any thumbs up from us.
Well that was certainly an odd thing to say.
I donāt get why youāre upset over him posting this. Why shouldnāt it earn a thumbs up? He was posting it in funā¦whatās wrong with that?
/genuinely confused
Yes! Glad you get me!
My general thought for today: String torsion! Keeping string torsion as neutral as possible for unresponsive play is incredibly important and for some daft reason I have only just come to realise this. It prolongs the life of your string and makes learning tricks easier. I used to just throw until it got bad so I would take the string off my finger and let it unwind that way, now I throw some side winders to correct it. I feel like such a dummy but also happy that I allowed myself to realise this.
- Iām not upset by his post. I am, however, less than enthused by that yoyo āappearanceā.
- Said appearance doesnāt deserve a thumbs up IMO because I donāt believe the yoyo was placed into the scene out of any interest/affection for yoyos, but just to signal āthis kid has random toysā.
I still donāt get you on this. I donāt even know what to say TBH. Iām obviously missing something because I just donāt get your reaction to this.
Thatās okay. I donāt expect to be understood all the time. Iām also not really articulate enough to express what this is tapping into such that it makes sense. Time to just move on, I think.
Yeah, sorry for my negative reaction to you man . I think Iām just missing something which is making me confused. haha really doesnāt take much!
/is not the smartest fish in the pond!
Getting ghosted by customer support feels great. Doubt Iāll be getting anything from this company again.
Iām running out of stringsš
All of them
Let us know which you went with!
Getting ghosted by customer support is never a good move for a company. I hope there is good reason for them to do this.
Woot! Went with the green capped one!
And holy heckā¦that trick was crazy cool! haha amazing that you pulled it off on a cheap $5 (well, $4 in your case!!) responsive! Super impressive man!
So I took a 3āish week trip to go see my dad a few months agoā¦and didnāt end up doing much yoing.
Got back home, got sick and ended up in the hospital then right after getting out I had a severe gout attack. Was unable to yo for about a month there.
So I missed almost 2 months of yoing within the past 3 months.
I have a long history of jumping into the deep end with my hobbiesā¦then burning out quickly and dropping them just to jump head first into the next.
I was afraid I was going to end up quitting yoing here a few weeks ago because I lost some momentum there during those 2 months of not throwing.
Heck no! Iāve enjoyed the heck out of yoing these past few weeks. Instead of quitting, Iāve been working at it harder than ever!
And Iāve made a lot of progress these past few weeks!
Iām now practicing 45+ minutes a day (hope to get to 1+ hours eventually) and am working on lots of fun stuff! Whips and slacks and new binds and combosā¦
The more I learn, the more enjoyable itās getting!
Iāve always wanted 1 thing I donāt give up on. 1 thing I can really get good at. I always quit things before I get any good at it.
Iām so wanting to stick with yoing.
Iām blindly hoping that as long as I stick with itā¦as long as Iām practicing just about everydayā¦I will eventually get pretty good at it.
I think a lot of yoing has to do with muscle memory and practicing so much over a long period of time to where things start to just feel natural and flow. But it takes a ton of time and work to get there.
I feel like itās the people who stick with it and donāt give up during the tough bitsā¦itās those people who really get good at this hobby.
Sorry for the ramble.
Just thinking out loud.
Focus less on āgetting goodā. I think that if that is what I wanted from thsi hobby I would have given up long ago. Also expect slumps in enthusiasm because they happen from time to time. Try to focus on enjoying it for what it is and learning how to appreciate that.
