White string is my favorite. Matches everything and just has a classic look

I would prefer white TBH, but it is just one of several preferences that are cancelled out by the convenience of pre-cut/pre-tied OD bulk. Iām just lazy that way.

Yellow string used to be just about all I used, but when I made a string ball and saw how yellow dominant it was I started using as many different colored strings as possible. My string ball is looking much prettier these days!

I have kitty fat thatās āhot pinkā but to me itās more of a neon orange/red. I do think pink is cool though and not used enough

I only ever record with neon yellow string, but when Iām not recording I use white and pastel pink a lot.
I think people opting to switch to neon yellow when they record gives the impression that itās more predominant than it actually is (although itās still probably the most common string color pick overall). Pink/white/even neon green just never show up as well in in videos.

Thatās very true, unless you have a really good camera and/or good natural lighting nothing else compares to the yellow showing up

It reminds me of buying a car with a more unique color. Sure that aqua blue looks cool and is eye popping right now, but when are you gonna get tired of it and wish you had just gotten a white/silver/black lol

I finally got a string I really like but they only got in white so Iām roped in but my fantasy string setup would be some funky fluorescent color like neon blue because fluorescent colors reflect more light than usual colors and appear brighter than white. I would also do like a dark orange backdrop instead of black for color contrast with the blue string hmmmā¦not all yoyo strings are good fluorescents though like the yellow looks good and some pinks looks good to me but they arenāt all equal even among yellows. I got some in black when I was trying string types so I would know which was which and theyāre impossible to see. Maybe in an all white roomā¦

You talking about dragon? If so at one point they made a yellow batch.

Yeah and hmmm I didnāt know that hmmm I also got some cumulous foam at the same time that have a really good color but I like the dragons better on most of my yoyos and want to check out some of their other string blends but right now Iām really happy with the dragons.

For sure, my āhot pinkā kitty string is not really pink or maybe Iām color blind because it looks neon orange-ish to me lol, it shows up okay in videos though but nothing compares to yellow on cam unfortunately

I hear ya, I mostly use white dragon, and have a big bag of a couple hundred lol (I do like cumulus foam a lot though!)

Iām gonna be needing string here pretty soon so I might go 50 white that I know I already like and then do 5 sample packs of different types and thickness. Always wanted to try XL I just feel like Iām going to hate how snaggy and tight binds are. Anyone use XL and maybe also does their own flowable silicone? Is it okay with that or still pretty tight-feeling?

I like my response to be slightly loose. For my yoyos that have a snaggy response, I like to use strings from my non-snaggy yoyos that have worn to the point of being too unresponsive. I find these worn (not to the point of fraying) strings work perfectly for me in my snaggy yoyos.

For me is always neon yellow, sometimes green and rarely white, only colours I use, boring I know.
As Mable said the yellow really pop up in the video/real life and thatās why lot of people use it, I see that the green was more famous years and years ago and I see that the white it start to get used more and more, you guys make me want to use again a white string, I think I will try it just for a change!

Iām having a great day. Dude comes through every 6 months or so to spray in and around our house to keep the bugs out etc. He walks in to the living room, sees my case open and goes, āAwh you throw yoyo!? Iāve always wanted to try but it looks super hard nowadays from what Iāve seen.ā I explained the basics are still the basics and showed him a couple beginner throws/tricks. Dude goes around, sprays and does his thing, comes back, āhey I forgot to ask, can you do the DNA? Iāve never seen it in person.ā So at this point Iām feelin like Andre himself out here just busting tricks and tutorials left and right, totally in my zone. Anyways, by the time we were done chatting and everything he said he was gonna buy a few yo-yos tonight. I said no need and gave him one of my butterflies, popstar, fh1 and some string. Cedrick, my dude, I hope you get off work today and just start having a blast with it.

Thought crossed my mind after playing my Turbo Grind Machine with the lovely retro cork pads - Wonder if Yoyofactory has thought about doing a 2023 version of their Confusion with the cork padsā¦At that point it would really be a call back to the og Cold Fusion which the confusion is based on.
