In person speeds things up A LOT for sure.
Thereās a lot of great tutorials from people in the community and most absolutely do their best to break it down. But thereās a lot of elements and things I get stuck on because I simply donāt have a good enough angle to see whatās going on or itās just not clicking from watching it on a screen. The biggest help in terms of technology nowadays has to be the GoPro though, having an overhead view does help a ton
If I canāt figure out a part but I know where Iām supposed to end up I try to guess my way there. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnāt idk depends on the trick. I always get tripped up when I try to learn tricks that are long because I just canāt remember it quick enough and I gotta break it up over like days instead of a long learning session.
Does anyone else accidentally like a bunch of post while using yye on mobile?
And then quickly unlike itā¦
Only to find out that you accidentally clicked it some time ago, so you arenāt allowed to unlike it
I was JUST complaining about this to my wife (who obviously has the power to fix it). The like button is right in the path of my scrollinā thumb! Lol
Yea, same here!
I jinxed it I guess. Mid June now but at least I got a discount code to use in their store. Which only has the FD 50 preorder in it.
Yeah me too lol kinda a major let down tbh. I ordered that strictly for brining to nats with me so if its not here by then ill be a little upset lol
I think Iāve said this before, but if you have a sibling or a friend or S/O to throw with all the time, learn from, push you etc, you are one of the luckiest people in this hobby.
Iāve given everyone I know a butterfly xt at this pointā¦none of them took to itā¦gahhh
only really special/weird people get hooked on yoyos. Iām more weird than special.
Iāve been slowly indoctrinating my kids into enjoying yoyo and wanting to yoyo. Maybe one day they will be interested in teaching me a new trick or something. Then again there are times my son tells me I have too many yo-yos and im weird so maybe itāll backfire.
My best friend every other week sends me a pic of a yo-yo(s) ālook at this one this is sickā āyou should get this one nextā I ask him every time, āso howās about coping one of those beginner throws a told you about and starting your own journey/collection?ā āEhhh idk man I just donāt have the time or the patienceā The frustrating part is the dude is a natural at most everything and I know heād pick it up real quick. I think heās afraid heās gonna be good and love it personally but who knows lol, Iāll keep egging him on. I got one of my co-workers to buy a butterfly and imperial awhile back though lol
I would think youāre doing it right though, let them grow up seeing you being yourself and enjoying the things you love. Theyāll grow to admire and respect that when theyāre older
Yeah itās hard because I donāt want to be too enthusiastic or anything I kinda just gave them to everyone then hid behind the bushes to see how they liked itā¦didnāt work but itās chill thatās why I joined the forum lol
This is so weird as I have a similar experience:
I had a schoolmate that still is so excited about yoyos but never wanted to play/try one, even if we finished school 10 years ago, he comment on Instagram every post/story I do and if we meet in my hometown he wants to see tricks and yoyos, he also look at the contest, the pro and everything around it he even send me videos about tricks and similar, he knows all 1a/2a ecc ecc, some brands names and pro names, he is basically part of the community without be a thrower.
I told him thousand times to start but he canāt be bothered he is a sort of āwatcherā of the discipline and he enjoy it like that, it is so weird because if usually I see something I like I want to do it immediately, I always found him curious
its like people that watch video or streams of other people playing video games instead of playing the game.
Millions of people love to watch soccer but have no interest in playing soccer. Most people enjoy listening to some form of music but have no interest in creating their own music. I think itās okay for some people to just want to be yoyo spectators. Maybe they will want to try yoyo eventually but if all they watch is the pros I can see how it could be intimidating. Gravity pull, forward pass, and rock the baby can be extremely rewarding.
Thatās true, I offered thousand times to let him play with my yoyos, plastic and metal I do not care about dings and also I am a very chill person about teaching and similar, he always wanted to look at the yoyos, open them and study them and enjoyed me playing but he never even tried to throw a responsive one or do a walk the dog just out of curiosity, still yesterday he messaged me about the cheatcode ahahahah asking if I knew that yoyo that seems cool and commenting my last combo and the video itself, such a great guy!
Anyone else get bored/tired of the yellow/colored string sometimes and you just want some icy white? I got one with a new yoyo the other day and I was like ya know, I havenāt used a white string in a long time and I kinda miss it lol
