General-Yo's Official News

I must second KiLbUcK.

Idk manā€¦

Maybe itā€™s just me, but I find that the Model 10 can handle some serious Play.

I play as fast as I can, to where most yoyoā€™s would fall off kilter almost instantly.

The 7075 Majesty has far better spin-time and stability than the Model 10. Truth be told, I am a bit disappointed with the Model 10. I assumed that since it came so close on the heels of the Majesty - that it would bring something new to the General-Yo lineup.

My expectations may have been overblown, but this yoyo is not as good as the 7075 Majesty in both spin-time and stability. I find the Model 10 to be very susceptible to spin-loss and tilt any time the string hits the soda-blasted walls. My Model 10 spends much more time spinning-out than I would prefer. It is lighter, floater - but it does not play any faster to me.

The 10 goes to eleven!

My spin times are amazing, so much so, that when I think it feels like the 10 is ā€œspinning-outā€ and I bind, I am surprised by the smack in my palm of the not done yet 10.

As far as the stability goes, what string are you using? I put some Toxic Snakes and noticed thicker string had some impact on tilt if my throw wasnt dead on. Overall I havenā€™t noticed any abnormal tilt issues.

I thought my Majesty was smooth but the 10 is as stable as the Majesty and spin times seem to be = if not a tad longer.

General-Yo/ Ernie has the the recipe for an amazing throw down to a science, Iā€™m loving my new toy.

Thanks Ernie for yet another great throw.

Iā€™ve had this particular design envisioned for quite awhile now, but finally was inspired to execute it tonight. I had some stencils left over from the ā€œGodzilla Chiefā€ I did awhile back and decided to use them again on Ernieā€™s latest masterpiece.

The scene depicts an army convoy travelling through the night while flames and explosions flare up around them. The tanks are crisp silver on red-orange-yellow fadesplashed flames with a dark acid-wash black night as the backdrop. I kept the other half clear ano to stay true to Ernieā€™s half/half aesthetic and to also keep it from being overly dark.

Hereā€™s a photo of just the tank half. Iā€™m proud that I managed to get the flames to curl around the bearing seat!

Itā€™s so nice to work on mint, perfect, factory raws. No anodizing flaws at allā€¦ Now Iā€™m debating whether this one goes into my personal collection or someone elseā€™s. :stuck_out_tongue:

Your work is just flawless Jason. All the edges are so crisp and the splash pattern is perfect. I can really tell you put some serious thought into all your pieces. Bravo Zulu to you bud.

Crazy cool ano Jason. I want it. As with all of your anos.
You are truly the greatest yoyo anodizer. I donā€™t know anyone that is even near your level.

I agree with the posters who have said it is subjective. You have said these things before about other brands as well, have you ever considered that the common denominator is you and not the yo-yo? It could be your play style is not right for certain yo-yo designs. That would explain your perceived idea that 7075 is better, any heavily rim weighted yo-yo is better for you. It sounds like you are a little sloppy in your play. Nothing wrong with that, I am as well. If you are having spin out problems I would recommend learning how to add regens in with your combos.

Blue silver bada** is definitely mine!

But of course the common denominator is me. It is my opinion that is being expressed.

You are right. I like heavier yoyoā€™s than light. They are faster for me. Your comment about regens is valid, although my experience is that regens are like walking half-way to the wall each time. You never really get that initial throw power back, no matter how cleanly you catch it. And yes, my play is sloppy.

All I said was that I liked the Majesty better. I also cited the reasons that I liked it better. If those reasons are not valid for your type of play, or are not important - they can be taken in that light. In other words - if you do not agree; cool. It is not like I was putting the Model 10 down as a yoyo. I was only comparing it to the Majesty - which was the question that I was trying to answer when posting. For me, the Majesty is better.

So beautifulā€¦

So are these BAā€™s 7075 alloy or 6061. If so, what is the weight difference?

Looking good Ernie! And Jason, WOW, incredible ano!

Why does everyone think BA edition is a different alloy? All it is is a different engraving.

All M10ā€™s are 6061-t6451 aerospace grade.
BA editions will come with 2 gen-yo patches. one of them an iron on.

You are a true artist. I canā€™t even comprehend how awesome that work you did on the model 10 is. Itā€™s truly beautiful. You are a hero; an anodizing god.

Ernie-
Absolutely fantastic engraving on the model 10. They look crisp and clean and just so nice. Will you be coming to the redondo beach kite festival/ yoyo contest on march 10? If so i would very much like to pick one of these up.

These look amazing. I seriously am super nervous for CalStates because these are gonna go quick. With a 2 hour drive, I probably wonā€™t be able to make it in time ;-; Dat would make me saaaaad. BTW How did people order them online? Through email? wuuuuuuuuuuut

Hopefully Iā€™m quick enough to snag a solid red.

First you have to go through a 2 year wait to be accepted for Basic Training.

After 9 weeks of Basic Training at Gen-Yoā€™s Fort Kaiserā€¦

Then you are put on the Gen-Yo Reserves.

At this point in time, you will be called to action when needed.
