General Yo Fan Club Thread!!

I got all this money building up for some b-grades. I was lucky I even got a prestige from you at nats!

Just bought a beat up KLR for $50. It’ll be nice to have a General Yo in the Collection again

Ill be at the next DXL. FO SHO

Noooo the one i will be missing!!!

If it’s this Saturday I’ll be missing it as well :frowning:

@benbod360 , @dingo54 and for knowledge @the_general
I see that you own an M10 Aman special edition, now I also have one !!! and we are 3 … who knows who owns the other two ???
I have a curiosity to ask you.
In the housing of the bearing of my two cups there are very small engravings (I believe handmade) made on aluminum, one has a shape reminiscent of an “X”, the other seems to be a “VL” …
Do yours have similar engravings ???
Do you know the meaning ???
Thank you!

Thanks for the explanation @the_general , in fact the yoyo has a very slight vibration not perceptible to the eye but only by bringing it closer to the nail, totally irrelevant in the game.
I guess the different incisions indicate a different level of vibrations.
Two other curiosities about the first run of the Hatrick, if I can ask:

  • what is the reason for the gold color of the bearing housing of the celestial half?
  • how many were made with graphics engraved on the celestial half instead of the gray one?
    Thanks again.

i love my general yo throws man. i think @Sinister_Yoyos can attest as well!

General yo is the best hands down!

The gold anodize in the bearing seat was an anodize before the acid etch. To maintain the bearing seat size, it was masked before etching.

thanks … but then why isn’t there in the half gray?

P.S. for the second curiosity I was referring to this

The grey had the same color pre anodize

Thanks for your time.

My favorite is the Hat Trick. It’s just the right shape and size, it’s not so stable that it’s stale. It’s a great all around organic throw.

Completely agree with you.
I played it a bit today alternating it with the M10 … the latter is a really good yoyo, pleasant and performance but as I pick up the Hatrick in my hand I realize that we are on a completely different world … finish more effective, weight and perfect dimensions … unrepeatable object!

I love the hatrick but prefer my 5star a bit more

i also re-homed an extra 5-star to a fellow yye’r… we shall see what their impression is too

This is my favorite company so I hope to bring some well earned attention to them by trying to revitalize the thread.

And I haven’t tried many of their yoyos. The ones I have tried quickly became favorites. The reason I’ve only tried the ones listen below are in account if my preference being towards more laid back organics throws. Does that mean they are not performance/completion capable? Not by a long shot, these things are beasts.

General yo Hatrick - while I was in the yoyo scene when General yo was first hitting the scene with the Torrent and 5 star, I was broke. I did end up having the funds when the Hatrick dropped.

I saw all the love on yoyonation for their previous models. At this time, the smaller yoyo renessance was beginning (could be wrong, this was maybe 12ish years ago), and the Hatrick clocked in around 50mm.

Initial impressions when I received it? It was beyond smooth and free if any vibration. I understood what everyone was talking about with the terminology of general yo smooth.

The blast used made it the most grind friendly yoyo I had ever tried. And the weight was spot on, not too heavy or light at 64 grams.

It was and is perfection in my eyes to this day. I also ended up with a half black, half USA b grade Hatrick. They were the apple of my eye, until my twins were born and yoyos took the back seat. Sold of my collection because I had new priorities.

Now that they are older and I have the means, I’ve bought a Hatrick. It’ll be here tomorrow. And that has me excited in ways that only a yoyoer would understand.

I’ll have another reply to this post later about my absolute favorite General yo. Those who know me, already know.

Share your love in here, time permitting, if you are a fan.
