Keep practicing with that ball Exmime and you just might get to this level.
Well I had this happen today.
So I enjoy floating on a onewheel, and apparently none other than THE @edhaponik does too.
Someone on the Onewheel group chat saw Ed’s photo and sent it to me and asked me to show him how it’s done.
I wish…
Hahaha OMG!!! Crazy. World too small, (though I think you’re overstating my status lol).
That’s rad you float too - it’s the best. I saw they posted a guy doing a kendama whirlwind and was like… well…
What was super funny is I don’t have a GoPro anymore so I held my phone in my mouth using a “chip clip” to film that. Definitely looked like an idiot but no one was around.
Funny thing is as a nonyoyoer they also said this about you, the legend, the god of 0A.
(I’m pretty sure I am not overstating XD)
Small world indeed, floating is the best it’s the most fun you can have in short space of time without a string
I’ve heard all the same stuff so many times, ha. I love sharing modern Yo-Yos with people, and I’m always very friendly with the curious, but some of those same questions boggle my mind every time I take a Yo-Yo out. A few comments that spring to mind are-
“If I tried that I would just hit myself in the face”
“If I tried that I would just get it tangled up”
"Doesn’t it get tangled/knotted? (yes, constantly.)
“How do you go so fast?”
“Is that spinning?” (no it’s not SPINNING, it’s just like a compass and it always points north)
“Is it motorized?”
“Is that a trick Yo-Yo?” (what does this mean??)
“Is it made of metal?” (yes. rock on)
“A guy at my school did a Yo-Yo demonstration once, but it wasn’t like that!” (take me to this man and we will duel.)
“I used to be able to do some tricks, but not like that!”
“Can you do [basic trick that nobody wants to do]?” (c’est la vie)
“Can you do like… the two Yo-Yos at the same time?” (no I cannot do 2A)
“Can I try that?” (this one comes from kids, I think)
“Is that a Duncan Yo-Yo?” (Second biggest reason to use Duncan metals in public; The smile when you answer “Yes” to this question)
Interestingly, I’ve never really been teased about Yo-Yoing. It almost seems odd that I haven’t been accused of having too much free time, or something along those lines. Ironically I’d have stayed a more active thrower if I did! People usually seem either impressed/positive or just weirdly uncaring. The occasional people who don’t seem to even perceive the tricks as something interesting are WILD, man. Like what have they been looking at on a daily basis? Are they from space?? Well, anyway…
