Let me know if you have Qs. I just improvised and it came out well… I’ll work on a slow version of it tonight.
So based on a conversation with a friend i went back to my Yonomicon to refresh some terminology i had backwards… and just wrong.
I will start working on redoing some tutorials i posted above for clarity.
Very cool book.
Owned it (have 2 copies actually…long story) for years and never read it. I’m finally currently reading it. Good stuff
I learned a GT mount from a Dylan K video above. It’s a great element. So i updated a tutorial i made on it. There is (was) a link to a tutorial i made but that is not going to work anymore.
Let me know if you guys have any Qs or comments. Work on progress… terminology kills me.
Here is a FS element im actually working on… except this guy is doing it really well. Protrusuons.

The new and revised Yonomicon was supposed to come out in early fall 2019. I pre-ordered it. I know it will arrive one day and I will be a very happy duckling. Thank you for adding so much to the FS thread. I really appreciate it and all the effort you put into your tutorials.
I discovered this by accident. Seems like a very cool element to add into FS. Hope you guys enjoy.
Here is a expansion on the GT element. I posted this on another thread but i thought it was a good edit for this post.
my FS combo evolution… id like to get a many elements in as possible at a comfortable pace with minimal repetition… this is where I’m at so far.
Smooth!
i threw a combo some people like it and asked me to explain it. Here it is… you can easily add or remove to make this your own.
If you have any questions (like about the GT exits) don’t hesitate to ask. Enjoy
@AKYOYOMIKE has been KILLING tutorials lately!!! i get to watch his vids every day… it’s pretty cool… the subway scenes are pretty slick!!!
IN/OUT BAROLROLL REPEATER TUTORIAL
i asked Bryan to show me how to do his in/out barolroll repeater trick. Being a absoluto wonderful human he actually filmed a tutorial. So awesome. He posted it on IG so I’m sure he won’t mind. I haven’t found a link on youtube for anything like this. I hope you guys can figure it out and enjoy.

Slow mo version.
Here’s a simple GT video I put together. First one I cover is a FS GT that I picked up from @AKYOYOMIKE.
Thank you! Between this tutorial and the one @AKYOYOMIKE made I finally got a handful of frontstyle GT last night. I was practicing it until almost 1:30am. Right now all the steps feel very awkward but that’ll clear up since I have finally grasped the movements. My goal is that within a month or so I will effortlessly work it into my frontstyle combos. EDIT: The dismount / popping out of GT is crushing me.
Wish I had some simple advice. Maybe try a small, quick popping motion that includes a small jerking motion toward your non-throwing hand side. Should get the yoyo to clear all string. Can work on the pop to another mount later.
Once I get into GT I stop the yoyo so I can examine what is going on in the gap that prevents a simple pop out. I am seeing an extra wrap OVER the bearing in there that is preventing an easy exit. It’s just a matter of time to clean things up and figure out the little thing I am doing wrong.
You’ll get it. Just a matter of analyzing what might be going wrong and making corrections.
