Fixing/Replacing Maverick Response

My Yomega Maverick is good for my skill level, but its rubber response rings have worn down. Now, it won’t even bind consistently. I was thinking of removing the rubber and replacing it with silicone, but I wasn’t sure if that was the best way to repair the response. Does anyone have any suggestions?

That has been done many times. Go for it.

Okay, I’ll try it. Thanks!

Be very careful not to get bubbles when siliconing it. This could push the spacers in a different position, and cause the yoyo to vibrate. If it does, you can just scrape it out and try again!

I’ll be sure to keep that in mind. Thank you for the advice.

I have a maverick. I’ve been using it for a long time and the response still gives very tight binds. Silicone would probably be better anyway. It seems the only way to replace the response is to contact yomega, which seems sily. So definatly silicone it, you might even silicone some of your other yoyos.
