Fixed Axle Friday Throws

It took a little tinkering with the setup but I am really enjoying the ZGRT mr85 blank in my Blueberry :blueberries:.
I was previously using the Twisted Stringz Regular for the fixie RBC, but I’ve now switched to Alphalines for something a little thicker and it is playing great now. The string centering reduces pad drag, improving performance and feel - but you need a thicker string to compensate for the slightly less efficient initial string wind due to the centering.

The only bummer is I have like 200 TS regs stockpiled and only about 10 Alphalines in white. But oh well, the Alphaline is a lovely string and it’s nice to support Zipline.

today (and lately) it’s been all about this custom throw by colin of tmbr. oak with a great “eH-ish” profile and padauk dado inlay. it’s really cool because the face has a super-subtle “dish” to it.

68 powerful grams of Arizona Desert Ironwood

57 mm diameter, 29 mm width

One piece fixed axle with about a 2 mm gap and a 5 hole response drilled through

It’s made for 0A and stalls perfect with its high walls. It regens and shoots the moon like a champion.

It’s heavy compared to modern standards, which I very much like.

Lol. Looks like you commissioned a Dead 'Orse/Button.

Oh nice! It does have the typical tmbr axle :joy: I thought it was just the inlay making a t look like that

Noticed you’ve been sessioning that Baldwin lately in your clips. Inspired to break mine out of the case.

TMBR and Cotton is always fun on a Friday

it’s Baldwin-esque, but it’s actually a custom oak throw Colin made me with more of an eH profile. But yeah I’ve really been connecting w it lately.

This Sickburn Yes Jive is pretty cool. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

The inner layer is printed with wood filled PLA. Still needs some breaking in but I love the shape. Thanks again @AudreySickburn

Edit: had to include a profile shot.

Since it uses No-Jive guts, does it also use the wooden transaxle too?

Yes, I have 4 different No Jive guts yo-yos I’ve designed. They all use the hex nuts, axle, and wooden axle sleeve. They also all accept turbo discs if you need a little extra response on them.

And you know what I’m throwing this Friday.

Yea, I know wood glue will fix it but ugh.. No yoyo today, and my favorite is out of commission for a bit.
