Fixed Axle February 2024 - Week 1

Great job so far! For that next part, you really want to pop the yo-yo up into that top front string segment. The string will catch it and hold it, and the yo-yo will just naturally roll over into a green triangle. From there it basically just a Mystic Dump, you’re just coming out of a triangle. So you can practice Mystic Dumps for that part. You can practice the part where you pop up into the green triangle by doing the Houdini Mount Stall and then take the yo-yo with your hand and set it on the back string so that you are in the mount before you pop up into the green triangle.

Yeah, you can, but you don’t have to pop the yo-yo up for the 1/2 flips. You can swing it over for the half flip, like a dump. It’s easier that way.

Thanks! I couldn’t figure out what way i can cheat setup for it, for some reason i cannot think of that with my own brain

I’m getting it in like 20 minutes! (EDIT: once i undo this knot)

I got the GT, now for the last part and then put it all together!

I’m learning so much.

So if you post a video with all 4 tricks you get 2 entries?

For some reason i thought each one is an entry and then all four is one extra.

Yup post any of the tricks get a single entry. Post all 4 get 2 entry. Then there’s that guest trick which is its own thing and prize. Good luck

We considered that but it would make counting tricks more complex on our end and more likely we make a mistake and things not be as fair. Trying to reduce error on our side.

I guess i didn’t read the rules right… Maybe i’m not the most rim-weighted yoyo in the collection… I’m probably some slim-line un-responsible plastic yoyo

No worries I feel like I’m a temu yoyo at times…

To be fair previous years did it that way we just wanted to try to reduce the lift on our end with the short turnaround we had after picking up the reigns and limited time we all have.

Hopefully we will refine things as we go and we will do a lessons learned and suggestions thread/session at the end to see where we could have done better. (I already started the document and have a few items to discuss listed)

to me most sense would make that each trick is one entry

I’d like to introduce you to the idea of……weight rings!!!:weary:

If I could make meme here…it would be one with someone wearing a big ole weight ring on their head like a bandana. And the weight ring gives them the stability they need to navigate life.
Edit: but you can’t do this as long as you have your bearings…your axle must be fixed…:cricket::cricket::cricket:

not to be lewd, but RIM is a name to a different part of male body

sorry

EDIT: aaight, one more: there already IS a ring for that part that improves performance. Ok, i’m done with jokes for now…

Do you know many people who wear bandanas there??:rofl:

Complexity is not any of our friends. That would exponentially expand the submission spreadsheet (which is all manually entered and someone has to manage that list) and potential we miss someone. But we will take that into consideration for next time.

Remember we are all just volunteering our time and not getting anything in return but the love of yoyo. And most if the volunteers have kids and jobs and busy lives. I don’t get paid nor own a brand or anything… I’m just doing this cause I like yall. Everyone else volunteering is in the same boat.

I argued against duplicate entries entirely myself but others believed adding a second entry for all tricks would encourage folks to do them all and not just the easiest trick.

I’m excited to see who land mysto set first.

I’ll hype yall up a bit with a pic of the yoyo on the line for the guest trick. From lkglass
