Fixed axle El MiJo question

I have an El MiJo that I bought new with all the extra bearings and blank. I have it set up responsive and would like to change it over to Fixed-Axle. Once I install the bearing blank is there anything else I need to do?
Do I need to use a different type of string? Currently using Kitty F/C. I am assuming my spin time will decrease compared to the the spin time with the bearing.

Thanks

Nope. You can use the same string. You might want a shorter string for fixed axel then for unresponsive play.
That’s correct just switch the bearings and you can play fixed.

You should already have the short axle in if it is set responsive. Just put in the blank and use your typical string and done. It is lots of fun set up as a fixed.

It is really going to come down to preference. I tie at my belly button for responsive.

Also try flooding the flat wide bearing with thick lube or grease and running it responsive that way. This is my second favorite behind the fixed setup.
