Favorite Yoyo weight?

What weight of yoyo do you like? I like about 60 grams +/- 8 grams, so my Replay is on the very edge and my Northstar…

ive got several yoyos that weight exactly the same, but play nothing alike. Its all about distribution of where the weight is, not so much what the weight is. :man_shrugging:

That being said, I tend to prefer 65-66ish give or take a gram.

Yeah, very true. I tried a cheap h shape once and the weight was all in the center. That yoyo was crap…

But still, I don’t play looping tricks with a nine dragons :wink:

I do not have a preferred weight for yoyoing. I tend to balance off the differentials myself. 64 grams lofty always plays nice to me. It doesn’t always have to be that exact because the human brain is like a computer, just not everyone’s!

Where the weight is distributed makes all the difference, but I tend to like them around 68 grams.

Yeah, that is at the top of the scale for me…

I liked what people were saying about the Duncan Metal Drifter but it’s so small and light that I’m not gonna bother.

I love the Duncan drifter but gave mine away! It was fun while it lasted, but I always felt like it was way to over priced for where it was at in overall performance. At $15 USD maybe. I also silicone breaked my Drifter plenty of times and liked the silicone better than the breaks it came with.

I really like light weight yoyos like around 58-62g.

They just feel a lot more comfortable to use.

Hence why I like to make lighter unresponsives like the Spinworthy Victrola. It’s only 62g.

I do recommend that people have a “normal” diameter very light and very heavy yoyo in their collection to feel the difference. Downbeat with brass side effects covers the heavy side… and on the light side, there’s the float and the crucible… what else?

Guess mine doesn’t count.

Light? The Duncan Pulse…

One thing about it, it’s really floaty.

Me too. Right now my heaviest feeling Yoyo is a CLYW Manatee but I’m also trying to get my hands on a CLYW Blizzard for a light and floaty feeling Yoyo.

I think 64 g is a pretty universal mass. Not heavy, not light, but the way other designs can present this weight can make a yoyo feel however you want.

65 grams is really my thing. 66 is a bit weird, 67 is cool if you have the energy, and anything under 65 is really for da speed.

Yeah, me too… Replay PRO at 68.8 grams is really slow for me

I tend to enjoy my yoyos on the heavier side around 66g-68g
