I appreciate you playing it, but man, I can’t get used to that tile set!

You can get the app from the play store on your phone and I’m pretty sure it’s free.

I’m a barbarian for my current playthrough!

It comes down to what you’re used to! I first played it 20 years ago and part of the appeal was the fac tit could fit on a floppy disc, I know it as an ASCII based game, I have tried various skins over the years but none of them feel right to me!

To each his own!

I’m sure me and my brother played it about 20ish years ago too. I must admit I used to cheat a bit and play in wizard mode.

Seriously though who plays Apex on Xbox?

In no particular order…

Alan Wake(playable on XB1) is awesome, like playing a Stephen King novel. Really unique FPS-like combat system.

Assassins Creed Ezio Trilogy + AC4

Half-Life 2 + Episodes 1/2 and Portal 1/2 (playable on XB1 and PS3)

Dead Space 1-3 (XB1 and PS3)

Demons Souls—the original ā€œSoulsā€ game and my favorite of them all (only on PS3, but might be getting a PS4 remaster)

Yu-Gi-Oh legacy of the duelist link evolution
And paladins are what I’ve been playing ATM

Really been jonesing for a meaty single player open- world game. Been playing The Outer Worlds (free on Game Pass). It’s not perfect but it’s really, really good. Writing is excellent. Can’t wait to see what Obsidian does with that IP in the future.

Next up I might snag Red Dead Redemption 2 finally.

Lastly, I forgot to mention way back when that the Dark Souls series is probably my favorite series of all time. It’s been really influential, inspiring a Pathfinder campaign idea I might want to run at some point and some ideas I’d want to try in my miniature painting as I get better (like really dramatic, high contrast OSL)

Have you played Demons Souls? Like I said above, personally that’s my favorite of the ā€œSoulsā€ games. It’s not as big as Dark Souls, but it’s more elegant in some ways… or maybe I just like the story and atmosphere more.

Red Dead 2 is great. In some ways it’s rather tedious, but I approach it like another world to experience more than a game. I enjoy just sitting around fishing, hunting, and trading to upgrade my equipment or to buy supplies to go explore.

Anyone else excited for next month? I know I am for several but mostly Pokemon reasons.

I missed out on Demon Souls. I really hope they do a remaster of it.

To be honest, that sounds spectacular to me right now. And that’s how I played Skyrim. I had a bunch of mods that made it a survivalist game and upped the prices for pelts etc and rewards for bounties (and also difficulty).

Oh man… There are so many games I love but if I had to make a shortlist of faves, it would be:

Portal 1 and 2
Half-Life series
Pokemon Ruby
RollerCoaster Tycoon
Bubble Bobble
BioShock Series
Serious Sam
METAL SLUG
Subnautica
Jet Set Radio Future

I used to play lots of online multiplayer games like RuneScape, Guild Wars, Counter Strike but nowadays prefer games that I can actually finish and be done with, and not get shown up by people half my age, LOL!

I’ve played many. Having to pick one, Portal 2.
It makes you think more creatively than most games I’ve played.
It is a lot of fun the first time through, and maybe a year after. You can forget how to solve some chambers.

I also liked Arkham Asylum quite a bit. It was a very smooth playing game, and although the detective work was pretty much spoon fed, it was a very beautiful game, and a good tribute to the Batman franchise. The others never quite caught the magic in my opinion.

I liked bioshock, but it got old. It was just so different, and I loved the art deco themes.

Every gamer should play Half Life, so ahead of its time, although it is a shooter, and not all families feel they are appropriate, which I understand.

Bummed that DOOM Eternal got delayed. But im sure it is in good reason to not release it riddled with bugs.

Been debating revisiting the Arkham games esp now that they’re on Game Pass. Def feel you on the sequels not capturing the magic of Asylum but personally I thought City was my fave.

I’ve tried to revisit a couple of times now but I keep getting distracted by the combat simulator lol.

I actually liked the newest one(was it called Arkham Knight?) the most. It was like Arkham City but bigger. They were all really good though.

Yes!

Last year I replayed the first Half Life for the first time in about 15 years and it still stands up, incredible fun! There was also a mod released last year called Echoes which is well worth checking out (it is free).
