Favorite Titanium?

RSO Ti Bowl Mini is my favourite yoyo at the moment. Such a nice feeling in the hand, great stability and my one is so smooth. I could not highly recommend it enough.

Still Alliance at my #1 fav yoyo not just fav Ti, although the Ti Albatross is quickly approaching #1.

In all honesty you’re not wrong. If you do ever want to pull the trigger on a Ti that might justify its price, try snagging a Wonder from YYR (they pop up for 300-350 on bst on occasion), or a Calyx (current fav). At the end of the day you are just paying for a design, however if the design doesn’t justify the use of Ti to actually improve things then your experience will likely be “Ti sucks”.

I love a good Ti yoyo but sometimes they are just duds/not that special.

I have only 1 (soon to be 2) Ti throws which is the Atmos Ari (soon getting the scorched earth and I have the black currently since I love the look of the lunar gravity)

I know the refactored it with Titanium in mind from the khuno and I love every tiny detail about the Ari which makes it my favorite of all time yoyo as well.

the TI portion of that isn’t exactly why it makes the Ari my favorite throw- if you just want a good yoyo you don’t need it to be titanium and often may like others in place of that (see any MFD throw imo) and if the idea that ‘I could buy 2/3 for the same price is too much’ then I highly suggest not getting a titanium. The ‘ting’ sound is very cool but you don’t really do it as much as you’d think but sometimes the string hits it just right and its very satisfying if you like that sort of thing.

I think it is much more important narrowing down shapes/ feels/ brands of yoyos you are a fan of rather than hoping that ‘this TI will absolutely be my favorite because its worth too much money to not be my favorite’

Basically any detail I can think for the Ari to have, it does, and makes it just better for me than all my other throws - 2nd being atmos stormberry and 3rd being MFD 2evil

I will say I would love to try is a ti-vayder though and still haven’t had the stars aligned to get one but I am hoping to one day since often the well liked yoyo’s in the community I like and pairing with aspects of the shape I think I will like it a lot as well.

Another Ti that seemed like I might like a lot is the Alliance (as other mentioned before) seems like it would be another that ‘everything just feels right’ as @bheinz63 put it.

Specifics I LOVE about the Ari:

  • I like the W shape best when done well
  • Liked how easily I can hit tricks on my OD LT that recently don’t throw due to Ari)
  • The gap
  • the blast finish
  • having side effects (changing/longevity/weight change)
  • I can finger spin with it
  • talon grind
  • the ‘kobe’ trick
  • other grinds are available
  • it allows me to do all the tricks I can think to learn on it
  • I like how it holds/doesn’t hold the string doing certain tech tricks that I get ‘snagged or it bites’ on other throws
  • the spin time is just as good as a few of the bi-metals I like

Never tried any of the bowl series, but obviously the Grail is among the best. I can feel the differences between that and the 000, but in my hands neither is noticeably more capable than the other.

Same, specifically…an Ari…

Would you be so kind to educate me on this trick? I have never heard of it.

It’s on “another yo-yo prominent website app”

Essentially you throw trapeze pop and turn your nth hand for a gt later
Cup grind on th toss to grind to nth then back to th then toss it into a gt and then get out and bind

Really what I was getting at are that the rims are smooth to do a cup grind as some yo-yos you kinda can’t without maybe gloves like the hummingbird for instance

That’s also only the name they use “Kobe” if it has another id be glad to know

Here’s a link to “Kobe” by the legend himself, Paul Kerbel…

Thanks for the video!

I think I can see why it’s called Kobe. It looks a bit like a basketball shot (more like a dunk though, the yoyo should go up higher).

Yoyofactory Ti Edge and Yoyofactory Confusion. Ti Edge is one of my favorite monos and the Ti Confusion is my favorite responsive, first throw I grab in the morning. Took the greased flat bearing out of an extra Pop Art and with some fat Ammo string. Very addictive now for me. And the Ti Edge is also perfect for holding my morning Vitameatavegamin‘s
