Don't you hate it when

true, I also think it depends a lot on that disclaimer which was beyond ridiculous and absurd to the extent that up to those years YYR had never differentiated between the yoyos produced, every yoyo even with clearly visible aesthetic defects, was sold to full price, like those that were perfect.
My 2009 Sleipnir, purchased from them, is living proof, the engraved cup has a scratch all along the flat bottom of the flat area of the hub (starts from the C of Champion and goes down, you have to zoom in to see), the other cup, the external center worked with a ruined tool that left all circular scratches … paid at the time 130 euros + 30 customs.
The green Clash that my friend Riccardo Fraolini bought, had half a cup of a different shade from the other half, so much so that it looked like a fade … even the one sold at full price … therefore the store’s fear of receiving complaints for vibration reasons, they made me smile (in my case bitterly)

Totally ruined. This was straightened out already in the tube photo. Nothing fancy, but a gift.

This is their etsy photo, watercolor by: patricbates, page is down as it says they are taking a short break.

Don’t you hate it when: “I don’t really like this yoyo. I think I’ll trade or sell it.” DING!!!

This happened to me once when I was checking to see how smooth the yoyo was before listing it for sale. It feels like taking a snag to the wallet. :pensive:

Day 1, parcel cleared from customs (after 2 weeks)
Day 2, out for delivery.
Day 3, headed back to the sending country.

You cut a boutique string too short :rage:

Yes, or you go back to a yoyo that you put a nice string on a while ago and realize you’re preferences have changed and what was once fine, now feels too short.

I’m used to bulk string. I only cut them for 5A so I know how short I like them for that. I’m scared of cutting boutique string, lol

(1) Your doing two handed loops in public and your string tension gets so bad that you don’t even realize it and…… BANG you hit somebody in the noggin :open_mouth::dizzy_face:

(2) your doing all sorts of 2A tricks and someone walks up to you while your distracted and keep doing loops while you continue to look at the person talking to you and all of a sudden your tension gets so loose that your yo-yo falls off the string while everyone’s looking at you trying to chase your yo-yo back :joy:

(3) your playing some 4A and your whipping out your best tricks while everybody catches your attention and stares at you and all of a sudden you go for a risky laceration bind in midair to finish it off but guess what you miss the string drastically and your yo-yo bounces off into a nearby lake :joy:

Tell me which one of the three unfortunate occurrences y’all like better

I like the imagery of #3.

I just thought of another thing I hate. Y’all ever do a snap start and your finger slips at full force causing your finger to bang into it? I almost threw one at the wall the other day because of this.

That and/or accidentally tying the knot too small or big. I have abandoned many good strings in lieu of another one tied just like I want it. Makes me sad.

Lol, I had a time when I tied all my Zipline strings at full length. Then I got ‘enlightened’ about short string and proceeded to tie all of my favorites with shorter string. After a while I played with one of them strung up long, and was able to finally master Spirit Bomb because of the extra length. Then I went back and strung up all of my favorite yoyos with longer string.

I still prescribe to the idea that everyone needs a short string phase, but it really sucks when you look at your case and you don’t want to play with any of the yoyos that aren’t strung up to your current standard.

I always leave a little extra tail after the knot because I worry about this. I never end up making it longer but I never know

Someone says they’ll take a yoyo from your BST. Then you send Paypal and the questions start.

Trying to land magic drop for the first time……

That was such a frustrating trick to learn.

Pulling back with RT thumb for righties was the key for me (sort of snapping the thumb back as it comes around).

You can also do a little hop if the reject does not happen, and it will land on the right string. The hop creates an extra element and breaks the flow a little but better than starting over.

Tell me about it :unamused::sweat_smile: I think everyone knows how hard it was to learn at first. Then came shockwave afterwards….
