I have an old 1a yoyo, but the response pads fell off and it only spins for like 10 seconds.
Is there a way to optimize it for off-string tricks?
I also have a pro z that has response pads, but it barely spins and it’s very light BUT it’s very wide and easy to catch.
I’m gonna try the pro z but I’ve never tried 4a so idk what’s best, maybe you do?
wow. Back when I started out, I tried 1a, 4a, and 5a on a yotricks Sage (yyf onestar). It wasn’t the best for 5a and certainly wasn’t optimal for 4a but it worked. I think as long as it plays responsively, it should work for 4a.

It might help if you said just what yoyo it is. There’s a lot of “old 1a” yoyos around some of which may or may not be suitable…

I have a duncan pro z and a yoyo king Merlin
I’d probably just get a YYF Flight - i think they’re only like $25.
