I have a comp at the end of August. No more 17.31 official average for me.
Iâd take that for an unofficial single best haha
On Speedsolving and cyoubxs friends on Facebook whenever I post a good time or something people just link to my wca profile as a reason not to believe me. Itâs getting really annoying.
Scrolling through tapatalk here with yye and speed solving .com and I see this post and Iâm like wtf. So not just from this post but a lot of other things there is a strong relation between Yoyoing and speed solving
Itâs weird because they shouldnât be connected but there are multiple instances where I have noticed this.
Kennan Lejeune ( he used to frequent this thread a lot) came first in round 2 of US Nationals yesterday with a comp pb average of 8.24. It looks like the finals didnât treat him so well but nevertheless it is very cool.
Never realized he was that good.
Heâs ridiculously good.
New PB single and first sub 7.

Shouldâve been better. Saw first 3 pairs and the edge for the fourth pair in inspection. Skipped oll with winter variation, then had the bad j perm for pll. Thinking back on it now I shouldnât have rotated to do the fourth pair, hecause that would leave a 3 move WV case. Left a y perm though so it probably wouldnât have been worth it.
I actually got really lucky that I saw this cross. I almost always do blue and it was a decent cross in this case but I saw the free green pair and then saw that I could make a 3 move x cross while preserving it so I switched.
I was actually about to start filming, I was a couple solves away from getting it on cam.
Haha, nice. Iâm starting to try to try to learn oll
Did you switch to cfop?
yeah, guess so
Do you know full pll?
No, not at all, Iâll learn that next.
Lean it first, trust me.
okay
Decided to pick cubing back up, grabbed a Zhanchi.
Using cfop, averaging between 35s and 40s. Working on working on optimizing my F2l, using 2look OLL, and working on full PLL.
Wait⌠You started this thread⌠Great to see you back. If you want to take a video of a solve I could help you with optimization of f2l.
My main issues are cube rotations and failure to have some of the weirder cases optimized algorithmically, resulting in some unneeded extra moves.
I may get a video of a few solves up tomorrow if I have the time to.
On another note: Lubrication.
I just ordered some Lubix, and I was wondering how people recommend to lubricate. I was doing some reading, and it appears that people like to apply one drop to each center, reassemble, and then place a drop on an edge and work it in.
However, for larger cubes, what do people typically do? I have up through 7x7x7, and a few non-WCA puzzles, and Iâm unsure of how to gauge how much is too much or too little, as Iâve never lubricated any of my cubes before.
Pretty awesome to see the starter of this thread still around.
Gotta 25.14 ao5 using cfop.
