this will be a longer update but the current status is that Iāve received a tracking number and that a package is on itās way to Germany.
As mentioned above, after the post from YYE, I contacted Alex and he replied pretty much right away saying that heāll look for the receipt and also send another package. That was on the 26th October. As I didnāt hear back from him after that, I wrote another email to Alex on the 4th November with still no reaction.
Then on the 11th November I had ordered another package from another US retailer. I told Alex via YYE forum PM that I consider this a race now: either the other US package or his will get to me first. But thatās the deadline for me, either way.
Last Friday (22nd November) I picked up the package from the US retailer from German Custom Service. Alex had lost the race. I informed him via PM, email and facebook message (just to make sure he gets it) that the deadline has run out but that Iād be traveling that weekend therefore giving him time till Sunday to react to the situation.
And indeed on Sunday morning I got an email from him telling me that I can expect a tracking number in the next 24h. The next day, I got an email saying that heāll need a little bit more time to send me the number, but that itās still coming. And this morning, I found an image of a tracking receipt in my email inbox. USPS has it already in their system, and I can see the package on its way to Germany.
All in all, it seems that this story will come to an end. When it arrives, I can give a final feedback on the case and hopefully close it all.
Waitā¦you mean it only took just 4 short months for your yoyos to be shipped out to you? Flip! YYE needs to take note, I live all the way in the UK and had to wait nearly a week for large shipment of yoyos before. Disgracefulā¦
Iām so fed up of hearing that name. Iām thinking of becoming a yoyo manafacturer myself and just not making or shipping any out. After all, whatās the worst people will do to me? Send me an email warning me that if I donāt ship theyāll send me another email?
I donāt think feedback is required. We all know the guy is a joke.
Thatās part of the issue, new people come into the community and see stores selling his products. So they have no reason to question if he is trust worthy.
it is with great relieve that I can report to you that a package from RecRev has finally arrieved. If you want to wittnes the moment I opened it, you can:
Of the two yoyos and one Stax axle system I had ordered, I received one yoyo. Instead of the other yoyo, I got two Sine/Saws and an Octave making this a total of four yoyos. Through some other stores I had bought a Sine/Saw and an Octave already, so those yoyos are no new additions to my collection.
But I will leave it at that. Alex tried to fullfil the order to the best of his abillity and since I had given him a specific list of what I had ordered when we last exchanged emails, I suspect that he didnāt have what i wanted still in his inventory. Since the models are also sold out at other online shops, I guess he couldnāt get a hold of it himself, either. So he gave me 3 other yoyos to make up for that.
This is fine with me. At least I got one yoyo that I wanted and since I donāt really care for RecRev yoyos in general any more, I donāt mind too much that I didnāt get all that I had ordered nor that I got extra yoyos that I already own. Iām just glad that this chapter is closed now.
Thanks to all who lend a helping hand in this, itās greatly appreciated. Eventually, it looks like that only the commercial pressure that YYE has put on him let to some reaction and to this result.
Holy cow, finally. Glad you got at least one that you wanted. Hopefully your unlucky encounter will serve as a perfect example of why NOT to deal with Alex Kim directly.
After all of this, I have to ask, do you like the yoyos that you got?
Being a pain and blowing off sales or sending different items than purchased are two completely different things. I sure hope you were being sarcastic, because this guy has lost all credibility in my book. Iāll never buy his products again no matter what the price.
To be honest, I havenāt tried them. And I donāt really plan to do so as I donāt care for them any longer. I wonāt sell them, I wonāt give them away, I wonāt recommend them, because that will simply promote RecRevās products and I donāt want to do that.
