Competition D bearing

is there such a thing as competition centered D bearing yoyo? it seems most D bearing throws are chill throw

I was just thinking yesterday that it’s surprising how few there are, smaller OD bearings are so much better with short string.

Parallel by Motion is a comp oriented D bearing

dressel just dropped the nimbus which is a d bearing bimetal w/ a cap, i am spreading misinformation on the internet

otherwise the parallel by motion mentioned above, or if you can hunt down a david yo dreamland on the BST that is also an excellent option.

Another vote for the Parallel.

It’s a C bearing

Some of the protos were D bearing though

oh oops.

it’s in my dreams…

If you can find one, Gway Daredevil and DD Assassin v2 could fair pretty good in a competition imo.

Probably not. D bearings have higher initial rpms and less spin time.

i believe the less spin time is caused by the design of the yoyos itself, most d bearing throws use d bearing because they designed a lightweight yoyo with barely any rim weight, and to combat the thud caused by the lack of rim weight they use d bearing to give it more kickback

Circle City Warhawk P40?

  • D-bearing
  • Full sized (circa 2020) 56mm x 45.5mm x 63.5g
  • 7068 inner ring bi-metal
  • Super low wall design

Parallel seems like the way to go for what you’re looking for.

All these things are relative but if you have identical yoyos, one with a D bearing and one with a C bearing, the D bearing yoyo will have higher initial rpms and less spin time than the C bearing yoyo.

Edit: you can download Don Watsons’ Yoyo Physics series from docpops website and read more about how the effective axle radius affects the physics of a sleeping yoyo here—

While there may be some minute physics implications (which I find interesting), I wouldn’t count out D-bearings for competition. The Alchemick Tyrant sure didn’t have any problems with spin time.

This is what i came to say as well. P40 rips.i love mine. I can’t do competition style throwing but I’m 100% sure Circle City Yoyos P40 Warhawk COULD in the right hands.

Seems like the Japan Technology Mirage SB could qualify.

Maybe the C3 Alt Bastet?

The Freshly Dirty Rooster is very capable D bearing Bi-Metal
