Sooooo nobody wants to help me make a decision? Hmmm odd. I love my rally and would get a yeti if i knew all the specs and the price. How does it differ from the rally? Etc
Just about the only thing not known for sure is the bearing they will use. I couldnāt care less what they end up going with, Iām throwing a One Drop 10-Ball in mine.
Iāve got bothā¦side by side comparison is they are totally different beasts. Iām a huge fan of both companies tops in the game. But that doesnāt mean they are infallible either. In this case both One Drop and CLYW have made amazing throws. The Yeti is solid and very stable, the plastic feels like no other plastic Iāve seen on a Yoyo. Feels denser. Plus it gives it an almost retro looks because the color is not solid but more a slightly marbleized look. Mine came with a centre-trac and itās a blast, very unique feel.
The Rally is also fantastic. You can pull a thumb grind on it where the Yeti is to crowded in the hub. Both can finger grind decent too. The pricing seems appropriate for what you get. Hopefully it will get to a more mainstream public and bring more people into the hobby too. Iām looking forward to the colors they both bring to the table with later runs. Win Win on both.
In my honest opinionš
Its gonna be huge i just saw the specs and i compared the specs to the 2012 genesis which is a big throw, its gonna be slightly bigger than the genesis in diameter and width and same weight ( i compared them two because of the similar shape )
And there you have it, looks like the Yeti comes with a CT bearing. Still swapping for a 10-Ball, I am not a fan of string centering bearings.
Here is a picture of the translucent blue prototype. You can see what looks to be the axle retention system embedded in the hub under the sticker. Iām not sure if it is actually molded in or press fit in after molding.
Yes, but they are a part of a larger company that works with plastic as their main component in a lot of product. Producing mass quantities and also having a huge facility. You just arenāt taking a lot of this into aspect. Not to mention Canadian labour is really expensive.
People have to feed their familiesā¦ and pay mortgage. Yeah!
Anyway, even though Iām a friend of Chris, I canāt spend hundreds of dollars on stuff. Thatās what b-grades are there for. I definitely understand that some people will pay more because they are diehard fans or collectors.
