I snagged a gold one for myself, will definitely post my first impressions in this thread when it arrives. The Chief has been my favorite yo-yo in nearly 10 years of throwing, and I really think the Orca may take that honor. :-X

I’ve been curbing my yoyo spending recently, but the Orca has been on my “must buy” list since I first saw the shape and stats. Not only do I love the look of it, but through much trial and error I’ve found 67.5g to be my ideal weight, and this is almost right on the money.

That being said, none of the current colourways have tickled-my-fancy, so I’ll be holding out for the splashed run and/or the black/blue solids myself. It’ll give me a chance to hear what people think about it as well which is never going to be a bad thing, not that I can imagine hearing much negative feedback (which is rare with most yoyos nowadays).

Part of me was hoping for some kind of Orca-themed colourway, I’ll admit. Something along these kind ‘o’ lines:

But hey, it’s early days so who knows.

Either way, it’s a gorgeous looking throw, and even though I know Steve works for CLYW, it’s hard to ignore the sheer amount of praise he’s been giving this thing. My wallet is ready. ;D

I was thinking one half black and one half white would have been cool for this throw too! 8)

I’M the one who has been doing unresponsive play for 6 months, he’s the good one who has been playing for a while and has a ashberry summit. I suck, he doesn’t :). Yeah he was the one at hobbytown, the one who won the yoyo from ed

EDIT: No, he’s not going to bring it to the hobbytown club. He’s bringing it to our Ping Pong club at our highschool, which has about 3-4 yoyoers there

Mine should be here in a week or two due to the order being international. The Canadian exchange rate sucks right now. Lets just say that 130$ usd Orca will cost me 168.75 in canadian dollars. At least the shipping was free.

So you don’t agree with me? It’s alright, I haven’t met anyone who shares this point of view with me yet. Everyone tells me I’m insane and the two yoyos aren’t similar at all, but I just consider it thinking outside the box.

I think I’m “in” for one if these… but as much as I like the orange, I have recently committed to a couple of solids (YYF dream Ti, and the accompanying, free Alum version), so I am holding out for a splash. And seeing that there’s an Orca-themed splash planned… well, that’s a no-brainer. Looking forward to making this my first CLYW!

I envy everybody on this thread who ordered an Orca and is a U.S citizen. My package is only in the pre shipment stage and may come in like a week and a half from now.
