Yeah you were right when you said that it would hold tension well, was just too slippery for my taste. Do you use it for 2a and fixed? would probably make sense if you did since the gap widths are smaller and the slip would be negligible

No it was 1A but that’s a thought to use it for 2A. I’m out of A&A string so I’ll have to wait till I can get more to try it.

Hi, happy Thursday!! I’m going to be busy this weekend, so I’m posting this now. This is the final A&A review before I get back to other strings we know and love (and probably hate). Tons of requested string are planned up for the futurelike Slackies, HKMT, Kitty, stock strings, and tons of Zipline. That’s later, though, and this is now.
A&A Yoyo String Fades Prototype || A- (90/100)
I was told this was a prototype but ended up being the string that they kept, but I’m still calling it that for consistency. First off, this was REALLY pretty, and I felt bad cutting off a good chunk of it since I use relatively short string (around 106cm/42in bc I’m short :3). Slipped a bit on the Monarch, but it was a decently easy compensation. The #1 takeaway from this string is so important I need to put it in a separate line.
This string is incredibly fast and whippy.
Casually, you probably won’t notice. Hooks and whips into mounts are the easiest I have ever had on any string, which gave it an honorary 6/5. If you’re struggling with whips, that alone might make this worth the buy. There are a few drawbacks as always. Due to how fast the string is, slacks are every so slightly lacking in form, which I noticed in suicides and branding. While the string also stays relatively the same in terms of capability, where it lands and how it lands seems to be a bit up to chance, at least from my perspective. Since this is washable and reusable (as most 100% nylon is), I’m so happy I get to use this again and again. That 6/5 from earlier put it into A-Tier, and I’m very glad it’s among those. Below are the stats.
Durability 30 min (5)
Durability 1 hr (5) nylon, what else do you expect
Personal Thickness Feel (3.5) feels good but classic nylon slip, needs compensation
Whip Feel Break-In (6) i can HEAR it
Whip Feel 1 hr (5) the exact same
Slack Feel Break-In (4) tiny bit floppy for suicides
Slack Feel 1 hr (4) same
Tension Hold over 1 hour overall(5) no hit
Softness during break-in (5) beautiful feel
Overall consistency over 1 hour (3) binds inconsistent, slack inconsistent. whips i couldn’t tell
Total: 45 x 2 = 90, 90 = A- graded based on letter system (A: 100-90, B: 89-80, C: 79-70, D: 69-60, F: 60<)

I love my fades from A&A they last a long long time, feel amazing and most importantly look really good.

Found this place thanks to pure luck, and I am loving it! I barely know anything about all the strings out there, but these reviews help a lot! If I may ask, what does snag mean?

snag is when the string suddenly catches and returns when it’s not supposed to, normally the string snags when i do crappy binds, but it can also happen with thicker string, smaller gaps, and too much tension in the string. to compensate for that middle one, i might swap out yo-yos for consistency throughout the hour after measuring thickness

Could you do Alphaline when you can? I’ve been thinking of getting it considering its price and it being a collab between Zipline and Sochi which I’ve heard good things from, but I’m still a bit wary.

Alphaline are really good. If I had to use bulks it would definitely be Alphaline. I have a bundle of Kitty and a bag of Sochi just sitting there collecting dust, replaced by the Alphaline. Unfortunately, those are collecting dust now too since I switched to Zipline Accel. Maybe when I run out of those…

Watieoboo Stock String || F (49/100)
I did not like this, and I apologize. I thought maybe there were some redeeming qualities like the tension hold and occasionally good slack, but the points add up. It immedietly felt broken in, which also meant that it was immediately at its full potential. It was INCREDIBLY stretchy, which is weird. It almost felt like nylon, and I wish it had nylon because I would be able to bear it more. Using it for any sort of tech was kind of ok, but if any slacks or whips were in the mix it just faceplanted. Using it for hooks felt like a form of torture to me, plus I did not like the texture and I am a very texture-based creature. Super slippery too, even on my orca it slipped a bit. If you’re using this to rock the baby or walk the dog, use it. If you want to move past picture tricks, please don’t use this string. Stats below.

Durability 1 hr (1.5) BAD
Personal Thickness Feel (1.5) slippery, probably really thin
Whip Feel Break-In (1) wow
Whip Feel 1 hr (1.5) does not get better
Slack Feel Break-In (4) really good, lightness helps but a bit too light
Slack Feel 1 hr (2) floppy and sad
Tension Hold over 1 hour overall (4) super surprised
Softness during break-in (2.5) feels like string, not yoyo string.
Overall consistency over 1 hour (3)
Total: 24.5 x 2 = 49, 49 = F graded based on letter system (A: 100-91, B: 90-81, C: 80-71, D: 70-61, F: 60<)
