cost depends on where you get it done. One drop charges $600 to have 10 prototypes made and $1800 for a final run of 100 yo-yos. alvin from fox land charges 300 for 4 protos and for a run he charges $30 per yoyo. I would recommend finding somewhere local that charges less.

You have a hole drilled on each half (With a lathe) and you then tap it (also done on a lathe) to the size axle you need. You then see how long a set screw in that size you need and buy it in bulk from a hardware supplier. You can usually get a hundred for a little more than $7.
Ok, so just to let you know the estimation I gave you earlier was like waaaay off. (I’m not used to metrics) I thought that a gram was a lot larger of an increment than it really is. the actual weight is really like 49 grams. does anyone want to have their name taken off the list of testers?
Axles are tricky. They come in lengths from 8 to 16 mm. The shorter the axle, the more prone to stripping. When putting an axle space in a yoyos design, you have to remember your desired length, plus add a couple mm of extra room between the axle and the aluminum of the yoyo. This will prevent the axle poking through and showing.
This is of course only if you dont want your axle sticking out…
