Have any of you guys used the dark grey blasted rook? How bad is the string wear problem, and how is it for fingerspins?
You can alleviate the string wear problems on blasted yoyos by taking them apart and rubbing the gap area with a coarse cloth like denim, or if you like be a little more aggressive and use a very fine scotch brite pad.
but jhb, why would anybody want to do that when they can leave the yoyo be and let it break strings and get dinged so that they can complain that it destroyed strings to the company???
Because they were advertised that it would happen so people wouldn’t take advantage of a good company
The Blasted Rook has a finish similar to the Bapezilla 2. It wont break your string instantly, but if you’re not checking between throws you’re going to have issues.
Like jhb said; rubbing the gap will usually help. It can be done with denim, leather, or even a very very fine sand paper. If you’re not comfortable with that then it may not be the yo-yo for you.
A finish like most Anti-Yo designs. I remember my Fluchs flying across the room after about 5 throws.
The cup looks similar to the cups of the knight and the queen, so im assuming that it is good for fingerspins. Am I wrong?
